BIG TEN TONIGHT

Fred Russell also ran behind some of the best linemen to ever play at Iowa. You put the tailback 2 yards deeper now and all you are doing is going from one yard runs to 0 yard runs.
This is true but there were also some other great lines where the tailback was not so deep. In my recollection Albert Young might have been the last of the deep set backs in '05 or so. But Albert was a really great back with great feet and burst but unluckily those bad knees.

Tonight they asked this question. What would you rather have? The best defense in the conference along with the worst overall offense, or One of the most explosive offenses and a average defense? I’d take the explosive offense and average defense. The Big Ten channel agreed with me.

*Brian better bring his best offensive schemes. Even a outstanding defense will get tired if your offense is going three and out.

*The obvious question is how good were the defenses that Maryland played?
*Maryland didn’t really score that many more points against Kent State than we did.
*Maryland has yet to beat a ranked Big Ten team since they joined the conference.

While you are correct, one thing you forgot to mention was that KSU had two TD's called back on what even the announcers called phantom holding calls. Would have made the game a lot more interesting, eh?

I just saw the Rutgers at Mich score from last week was 20-13 wolves, wow, much closer than I assumed. I have not seen Butgers this year nor really read about them but I knew Mich was running the ball well and holding opponents down. Butgers must have a pretty solid defense. I may have to change my predictions on some or our West rivals games against Butgers.

Well I guess that answers that question. One teams offense was overrated. Either that or the steal curtain is alive and well in those makeshift Steeler uniforms.
Good overall game on both sides of the ball. Good to see Brian open it up.

Did I hear them right tonight? That Maryland had the 8th rated scoring defense in the BCS? Welp, I guess not anymore.
Would love to see Maryland stick it to the Buckeyes next week.
