What’s KF’s record coming out of a bye week again?

I THINK it's 10-9 overall, but it's pretty miserable on the road. I think we're 3-8 away from Kinnick the week after a bye...not great.

    QB Regression

I heard the same thing...don't remember if it came from the coaches or from my teammates.

    Brian/Nate's Objective Performance

Northwestern last year would be a great data point for this discussion. 0-3 in the non conf, 8-1 in the B1G regular season allowed them the exposure to play on the first Saturday in December in the B1G CCG. Held their own for about 3 quarters against OSU before succumbing to a superior team...

    IowaLaw's Post Game Analysis: Northwestern

If somebody goes away from you, 8 or 9 times out of time there is going to be someone coming to you from a different direction. Defenses don't maintain gap integrity by leaving gaps undefended...Paulsen will get a hard lesson in the film room on not chasing blocks in pass pro.

    Offensive Positives from NW Game

Watch what the Iowa "counter" play does to the LB's at 13:17 in the above video (Will [weak side] LB especially). The need for additional variety to the running attack is apparent.

Is Mich getting it together - and Iowa's defense against them

I can only address this part of your post because I didn't see the UM/ND game, but this is a staple of the Parker x 2 regime. Keep things simple, understand your role within the greater machine, do your job...and if you don't do that you don't play. A couple of years ago I had brief...

    Offensive Positives from NW Game

Definitely some truth here. While obviously coaches love to get the win by 1 or by 30, until you play a perfect game it doesn't matter how many you win by...there are still things to work on and still teaching/coaching points to instill. Coaches love to use that to keep a team grounded and to...

    Offensive Positives from NW Game

I haven't done this, but I'd be interested in the results. LB keys are usually guard to near back, or a triangle read between OL, RB, and the actual snap of the ball...I'd be interested to know how often our guards take the LB's to the ball carrier. The pass game is a much more simple read...

Hmm...that route combo looked familiar. I think I remember seeing that in the bowl game against Mizzou about 10 years ago...

Damn! Anderson tried to deliver the blow...Geno shucked him off like it was nothing.

LOL at "Iowa moving the pocket..." from the announcers on that 4th down play. Sure fella...had nothing to do with the ole blocks from our OL allowing 2-3 rushers through. Also, this is already a popular opinion, but how you can look at what Goodson brings to the table as compared to the other...

We are seemingly developing a tendency on 3rd and med/long from midfield...we'll run the ball out of our gun formation. Done it several times in the last few weeks alone (twice today that I can remember).

Ball at midfield, 2:36 left on the clock, senior QB and a talented set of WR's....and we run the ball 3 times. ????

But we're actually USING them. Weiting, LaPorta, Beyer, Cook...doesn't matter, we're actually utilizing more than their blocking ability.

Were you talking about the throw to LaPorta? Where do you want that throw? LaPorta is 6'4"-ish...against a DB? High is where you want that ball. If that's not the one you are talking about I apologize

Feel bad for NW defense...they are a solid group but have to be so much more disillusioned than ours is because their offense is really terribad.
