Imo, Meyer will play a significant role in the team's success next season. Mel better improve his game a lot or he could be down the depth chart for playing time. The Hawks are going to have a lot of bigs with real bball skills.

Imo, the only player that may end up rs would be Olesani. The extra year would really be beneficial to him experience wise. Meyer is way to good to rs. Basabe may end up as the odd man out given his current limited offensive skills vs the other big men he will be fighting for playing time next year.

The biggest impact of the freshmen next year will be the battles at practice to earn playing time. As Gamble mentioned, the practices for the 86-87 team were harder than most of the actual games they played. The guys really went after each other.

How about makes shots on a fairly consistent basis. May has missed so many drive-ins lately, it is ridiculous....and then it is off to the races the other way for Iowa's opponents.

I would get Archie as many minutes as he can handle as long as he is effective on the defensive end of the court. I also agree that Oglesby needs to get more minutes as he can consistently make shots vs. May who can't even make drive ins consistently. Olesani should also get some extended...
