Don't blame the players this debacle is 100% on Fran.

I agree. With the T-shirts tonight I thought there would be unity and inspiration. Kinda like the Chris Street game last year.

I was finally able to put a finger on a thought related to this team

Before Marble is crucified about Twitter account, keep in mind he had his personal account and there is an account @RDM4POY that is probably run by a FAN trying to promote Dev as big 10 player of year and boasting his stats and accomplishments. In my opinion, this is all mental and or...

    Trey Dickerson commits to Iowa

This really is a surprise based on the attention he has been getting as his season went on, and Iowa's end of season skid. Dickerson has proved on the court in JC that he earns a Big scholarship. I like that. He will play a lot right away. WE NEED HIS SCORING! I like Gessel but I don't think...

    I'm done.

All the bickering about who is a fan and who isn't aside, I think we can all agree that there is something missing from this team, and for that matter last year's team too. I don't believe it is lack of talent. It has to be mental with all the shots being missed, and more recently loss of...

    Players Meeting

That's exactly right. Quiet. Just like no one steps up in the clutch. No one is consistently a GAMER except Marble, and he disappears as well. We need a leader to get us through games like Minn, OSU, and Wisconsin.

    Bad Loss!

As earlier posted, the depth SHOULD be a big advantage now, but as in previous seasons we struggle to have anyone that is gamer, that can carry the team consistently through dry spells. Where was Uthoff? We are seeing he is not Big Ten ready yet. I am not giving up on Gesell yet, but he is not...

    Tyler Sash cut

Not so fast......he suffered a concussion last night. The Giants are thin at safety after losing Stevie Brown .

Who's the starting five next year?

Marble, Gesell, White, Basabe, Woodbury. I expect Clemmons to be the most improved player. I believe Uthoff will lead the team in scoring on occasion, and be one of the best sixth man in the conference. Lots of depth who will contribute often including McCabe, Olenseni, and Jok. Meyer will...

Best Iowa dunker of all time?

When I was playing HS ball, Michael Payne was my favorite. Had his number 42 (also James Worthy's # another favorite). Payne wasnt much of a dunker though. Marble didn't wear 23 for no reason, he was smooth and made it all look easy. Wright was amazing. He could do the windmill just like Dom...

    Olaseni to Redshirt next year?

Agree with Tork. Players like Marble, Gesell, Ingram, and Woody have probably been playing organized basketball for 10 years. Gabe I believe about 5, so a redshirt year to get more practice and coaching could really benefit him and this team. He has raw athletic skills that need to be adapted...

    Olaseni to Redshirt next year?

I think after sitting this season out, next year Uthoff and Meyer are just gonna be chomping at the bit to play and impress. It will be a challenge to find playing time for everyone. Uthoff will probably go off on some unlucky non conference teams after watching from sidelines for 2 years.

    Olaseni to Redshirt next year?

I believe this would be a win-win situation. I really think Gabe could be a beast in two years. A redshirt next year would be better than his freshman year because of the experience he has built up. He knows Big Ten basketball now, what he can do, what he can't do, and what he needs to improve...

Chalk up another close lose to Fran

I had big hopes for this season, but I am afraid this team, and these young players are one year away from the success we desire. Next year I expect them to be the kind of team that beats Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State, and Indiana at home. We will be "officially back" when we can win...

    Oglesby

This was a good game for JO, saved us in 1st half. But we needed him in the 2nd half also. Where did he go???

    ERIC MAY!!!

Nice post, smhawk. I am happy for Eric. That is senior leadership.

    Marble's draft stock falling?

He needs to be back, because he ain't ready. He better ne concerned about keeping his starting position at this point.

Missouri State Coach Lusk pays tribute to close friend Street

Class act. I believe Paul Lusk was a pallbearer at Chris' funeral.

    40 Forever!

What a great video production! But so, so heart wrenching and painful to watch. It made a 47 year old man cry more than once. I had to step away for a while before I could watch part 2. I grew up in the town of Murray, which oddly enough is kinda between Humeston and Indianola. Even though I...

Creepy topic of the day: Canzeri's new Twitter account

No doubt. Legions of followers are waiting for @jake_rudock and @TheRealNumbr19 to start chirping about which one will be the next QB. I look forward to the updates. I am not following...............yet ;)

    Josh Oglesby

I agree with this. No luxury of having that much space. Sounds like he is great practice shooter but cant translate the confidence to the games. He has had plenty of opportunities. Time for him to sit unless he can start moving without the ball and shooting off screens, ala Steve Alford or Mark...
