    Iowa @ Nebraska

Yep -- a #1 seed would be key for DSJ. I like Dieringer's chances of knocking off Green in the semis if they end up #2 and #3. Green is pretty close to kryptonite for DSJ. Seeds will be huge for DSJ's repeat title hopes. At this point, I'd consider any win for DSJ over Green an upset.

ULM: THE OFFICIAL "WEAR GREEN FOR GREENWOOD" GAME

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a little outside the bounds of what we're trying to do in this effort, as our main objective is to simply give a show of support for Brett and his family. It's sure hard to argue against your idea, though. If this were done, things would need to be cleared with...

    Hitchens, Kirksey, and Morris

Yep. Nielsen's been slowed by a bad ankle, but Hitchens does seem to give us more speed over a healthy Nielsen. All three of those guys can really move and hit. If we can step up our D-line play and keep blockers off the LB's, those guys will clean up. With a few more games under their...

    Kudos to the fans today

Been to a lot of games in Kinnick dating back to the mid-1970's, and I've never seen such contrast in the crowd intensity from one part of a game to the next. Podolak commented on this on Sound Off, too. Kinnick was about as dead as it can get for 3 quarters and about as loud as it can get for...

    Unsung hero: Eric Guthrie

Agree 100%. Just about the only bright spot through three quarters today, and I agree he was a big reason why we were even in the game at the half. GREAT job out of Guthrie!

    The REFS today

Have to agree with everything in this thread. Like many of you, I usually don't gripe bout officiating, but today was absolutely unbelievable. One obvious miss not yet mentioned was the false start by the Pitt slot receiver on their last drive. The guy flinched so clearly we easily saw it...

To the students with their bellies painted. . . .

To the guys in the front row of the student section with "WE BLEED GOLD" on their bellies. . . . Would be really great if you guys could do "GREENWOOD" on your bellies next Saturday for the UML game, in honor of Brett. Probably get you some good airtime on the BTN, too.

ULM: THE OFFICIAL "WEAR GREEN FOR GREENWOOD" GAME

Good job to whoever called "Sound Off" on WHO radio and put in a plug for Green for Greenwood. Jon Miller said he was going to email the U of I to see if they might throw their support behind the effort, and I've contacted someone close to the program who's checking around in marketing on this...

ULM: THE OFFICIAL "WEAR GREEN FOR GREENWOOD" GAME

I'm working on getting the U of I involved. Should have an idea about their involvement by Monday. That said, I think we could pull this off with or without direct involvement by the U of I. If people call Sound Off (radio and TV) this weekend and plug the effort, e-mail the idea to as many...
