ULM: THE OFFICIAL "WEAR GREEN FOR GREENWOOD" GAME

Any issues with an out of state fan buying one who has no plans to go to the game? I would love to have $5 go to the Greenwood family or a charity. Plus, I can always use extra tee-shirt. If the Greenwood family doesn't accept the money, I am sure there is a good cause at the U of I Hospital???

No,it doesn't matter if your out of state and not attending game.

It's on a 6.1 0z 100% cotton shirt.

Ya, I'll try and set something up.
Can part of the money be donated to Greenwood you think?
Or would I get in trouble, should be fine if he is no longer a student athlete. I would imagine he has bills to pay now and no big NFL contract.

Hopefully a fund has been set up. I would look into it if you DO collect money, because sending it directly to him/family is taxable, whereas a special fund may be set up that is specifically non-taxable (sorry for the libs that think avoiding any/all taxes is unconscionable).

Adrian Clayborn ReTweeted about this yesterday! Looks like the word is getting around boys! nice job to everyone involved.

This is an awesome idea, but if it is to succeed, the University would need to get behind it, and the sooner the better. Otherwise it will turn into the debacle that the aforementioned "Norm!" was.

I'm working on getting the U of I involved. Should have an idea about their involvement by Monday.

That said, I think we could pull this off with or without direct involvement by the U of I. If people call Sound Off (radio and TV) this weekend and plug the effort, e-mail the idea to as many friends as they can, Facebook and Twitter, we can get the word out. If the idea is supported by those in the media, all the better.

Would really appreciate Hawk fans' support in this effort! Voluntary, of course, but it really could be a meaningful moment for Brett's loved ones and a terrific opportunity for Iowa fans to pull together for a great cause. THANKS to all who get involved.

WDMHawkeye (can't make that nickname work on HN anymore for some reason)

Good job to whoever called "Sound Off" on WHO radio and put in a plug for Green for Greenwood.

Jon Miller said he was going to email the U of I to see if they might throw their support behind the effort, and I've contacted someone close to the program who's checking around in marketing on this, as well. We might hear something about U of I involvement early next week.
