Would a 5 man defensive line do better against Denard Robinson?

I honestly don't think Michigan's Oline gets enough credit. Sure, after the first level, it's all Denard but they have to get him there. Their Oline is definitely one of the better, if not the best the Big Ten has to offer at this point. I'm not saying they can control the LOS against Iowa but...

Would a 5 man defensive line do better against Denard Robinson?

In some instances, it would be awesome. In others it may be terrible. That gives you one less guy at the second level and one less in coverage.

Any ideas on how we attempt to prepare for Shoelace?

Yeah, that's awesome, he threw for under 150 yards/game while all teams were trying to do is stop the option. Michigan will run a read option and pass option with possibly two pass options. That's a quadruple option. Robinson is a better passer than Nesbitt with better receivers. If he throws...

Iowa vs Iowa State secure through 2017

As of right now it's set. It could change on either end in the future though. How far out does Iowa have non conference scheduling done. As for the Toledo and SJS deal, I have no ******* clue. That seems stupid to me.

    How to stop Michigan

Contain and tackle. You do that, you can contain him. As for last year, he gave them a shot to win. He chucked the int at the end, yes, but don't forget he had a guy wide open underneath that may still be running if he hits him. That was a freshman mistake. He is much better now, or has been to...

I disagree. I think he will miss at least one game. Hopefully it's Purdue or Illinois. He isn't all that small, about 190. It's not like Tate last year rolling in at 170 lbs but he still takes too many little bumps and hits.

Any ideas how we prepare for Roundtree?

Tackle him. He isn't a big down field threat but he will catch and run. Stonum is sort of in between. It seems Junior Hemingway is coming on as the primary downfield threat. Supposedly he has the best hands on the team and can go get jump balls. He doesn't posses a large amount of speed so in...

TOP is a useless stat. Look at ISU last week and Michigan alst week. Michigan had the ball for 19 mins. WIll that work out the same against Iowa? Probably not, but the stat itself is flawed in many ways.

I suppose that's true but on the flip side your front doesn't matter if you can't finish. Yes, Cink blew it. I don't know why you put Tiger where he did. Sure, he isn't playing that well right now but he is arguably the best match player of all time. I would have put him last and I would have...

Any ideas on how we attempt to prepare for Shoelace?

That brings up another interesting point. Lets say he goes down ad doesn't come back. Trust me, you won't know who is starting if that happens. Then, you have to prepare for Forcier who is probably a better passer and Denard. I don't see it as a big problem, but you certainly have a different...

Any ideas on how we attempt to prepare for Shoelace?

You don't want him moving. You want to keep him in the middle. If he drops back to pass and escapes the pocket, all bets are off then. I think you have a better chance if you can keep him standing in the pocket. I also think Michigan will aim to move him out of it.

Any ideas on how we attempt to prepare for Shoelace?

See, that's the biggest problem in defending him. If you use a spy, those pass/run options are killer. I don't think MSU will spy him. I don't think they can afford to have Greg Jones set just on him and besides that it is outside of their normal scheme. I wouldn't use Sash because then you have...

I'm disappointed in Pavin. Your last guy needs to be a guy that has withstood immense pressure. He had to think that if America was going to win, it would be close and come down to the last match. Put someone in there who has been through it and succeeded. Put Tiger or fill in the 12 spot. You...

Go back and look at the whole ND game. Look at Michigans DT, Mike Martin. He was held all game. I think it was 95% of the plays. Craig Roh was held a lot too. That game was terribly officiated all around.

The first part of that is incorrect. He has made plenty of throws that were tough throughs. Sure some of the deep throw down the sideline are missed assignments but why do you think that is? You have to stop him with the front 7. If you can do that, you will be fine. If you have to have the...

I believe Denard has the third highest passer efficiency rating in the Nation.

Indiana actually had success running the ball too. I don't know if that was dues to Michigan dropping eight willing to let them run or if they are just that inept. It's likely a combination of both. Iowa will be able to run the ball.

    Bama: 24 PSU: 3

I would say this is spot on. I happen to think that right now Iowa is, without looking at record, a top 5 team. Of course, if you look at records that changes. I have been impressed by Oregon and Bama but there isn't a clear cut 3rd team. TCU and Boise are great teams but they don't jump off the...

Except for that last drive yesterday when they had under a minute and he ran it the first 3 plays when a FG was never in the equation.
