Man Up Hawk Fans: Badgers won straight up

It was a good game that could have went either way, but I don't necessarily feel Wisconsin earned it. Once again special teams blunders cost us (missed X point, missed FG oppoortunity, offsides on a kick off) as well as uncharacteristic penalties and a few coaching miscues. Those are things...

Most Obscure Stat Predictions for Saturday

DJK returns a Kickoff for a TD but it is called back for a penalty. Then O'Keefe throws him a bone and lets Stanzi air it out to DJK for an 87 yd pitch and catch. DJK then gets a celebration penalty. Hawks win 31 - 21!!!

Iowa is #15 in the BCS

The thing that irritates me, and I know it sounds like whining over spilt milk, is if we don't come out of the gate asleep against Arizona, we would already be where we need to be, and the next 6 wins would all but gurantee us a spot in the NC game. Oh, well like most have said, lets see how...

Iowa has toughest schedule in country now!

Like others have said, rankings don't really matter in September. We do however want to play all of these teams ranked so when we beat them it helps us out. I however see us going up one spot in the polls because there is no way that Texas shouldn't drop below us the way they got spanked on...

    KF tv show

I know I am not a football guru or anything, but with the way the O line was able to block in the last drive, and even before, I don't understand why we weren't moving the pocket or running a few screens or draws to negate the bull rush that was Stanzi's undoing. Also I felt like ARob did an...

    New Attitude

I agree about their attitude and resiliency being awesome, but I felt like Iowa lacked intensity at the start of the game. They certinly couldn't match Arizona's at the start. They were stoked and jacked up. Iowa seemed somewhat lackluster. That is until they got slapped around a little and...

    Iowa Linebackers - Thoughts??

Even though Sash and Greenwood played well with a couple of big hits, you didn't hear their name called too much either. Defensively this was a game for the corners and D-line and they did their job. EIU just didn't do anything over the middle in the passing game and when they stretched things...

Smile, you're on candid camera... at Kinnick

Just so long as there is no funny stuff going on in the bathroom like in the Metrodome. That would be catastrophic. Hope their rightousness doesn't ruin the atmosphere needed to keep the home field advantage.

    Coach Wooden

Sorry if this is already out there, but I've been without internet a few days. Just read that Coach Wooden is in UCLA medical center and considered in "grave" condition. What an absolutely wonderful human being and the best coach ever. Lets just hope he pulls through.

Freddy, Keep them coming. That was hilarious. I am on vacation this week and will need constant chuckles to keep me going.

Favorite coach of all time- who would you choose?

John Wooden, without a doubt. Man of extremely high character and on top of that he could win. One of the most respected names in all of sports, period. How could you not want him running your program.

    UNI vs. Kansas

Way to go Panthers!! I love anybody who can take down Kansas especially if they are from the state of Iowa. Take it all the way guys.

What the Coach Needs To Do

I agree with changing the culture. Sometimes when things go south or stale, you need a major overhaul. Uniforms, definitely need changed. Students closer to the floor so as to cause a problem to opposing teams, definitely. Just for fun (I know it is not realistic, but I think it would be...

    Cole sits....

I agree Cole probably should have played more, but he played close to awful today too. Sims was beating him on the boards like a red headed step child. It was just one of those games that was over when the Hawks got in the arena. Nobody had a good game with the exception of maybe Fuller...

What Classic BB Games would you like the BTN to replay?

Those Chris Street games are awesome memories of how the game should be enjoyed and played. Still give me goosebumps too. The comeback at MSU from almost 20 down in the second half was an unbeatable memory for me.

    Don't look now, Top 25

I don't miss Alford either. Granted comparing his coaching ability with his character, class, support for the University and community are different, but I don't think he was that great of a coach either. Some of his players gave it all, all of the time (Bruner 150% for 40 minutes), but others...

If Bob Sanders was playing next Sunday...

I'm not sure how it would turn out, but I am willing to bet Bob would give any amount of money to be playing in that game and find out. I also believe one would help the other one off of the turf after the collision. It would be a collision that could be heard from the parking lot of the stadium.

    Ferentz's recruiting pitch to Henderson

Coach Ferentz: "Floyd, Heartland, Cy-Hawk, Orange. Dude, we have more trophies in our case from last year than those other schools you are looking at. Come join the fun!"

    Moeaki Draft Status

Has anyone heard anything about Moeaki's draft status? He did have quite an incredible game against GT. His blocking was phenomenal and he caught pretty much everything he could get his fingers on. His stock should have climbed I would think.
