Iowa has toughest schedule in country now!

Iowa has 8 games remaining. Currently 5 of those 8 teams are in the top 25 - OSU #2, Wisconsin #10, Michigan #21, PSU #20, MSU #25. Northwestern is 4-0 and could be ranked when we play them. Indiana is undefeated. After today's morning games Wisconsin, Michigan and MSU will move up in polls and I expect Iowa, given recent poll disrespect, will stay or move down.

MSU and Wisconsin play next week and will give one of those two their first loss but either way, they will be above Iowa. Iowa plays #20 PSU next weekend (could be ranked higher than Iowa), #21 Michigan after bye week (will be ranked higher after today, 4-0), top 10 Wisconsin then #25 MSU (if win against Wisconsin will be top 15). Indiana and Northwestern after that and then Minny.

If we can survive that schedule, Iowa would have proven to be a Top 10 team. I'd like to know who has a tougher stretch than the Hawks the next 4-6 weeks??

Why would Iowa move down?

Basing that off of Iowa's recent history in the polls. MSU is 4-0 and won big = move up. Michigan is 4-0, wins big, name brand = move up. Wisconsin is 4-0, wins big = move up. IF PSU wins they go 3-1, name brand = move up.

Iowa won 35-0 against ISU and moved down two weeks ago. They moved down 9 spots after losing on the road against a top 25 team. Iowa won big but other teams in Big Ten did so more "sexy" or have unblemished records. Iowa will stay at 18 or move down 1-2 spots. But it also depends on what happens to teams above them.

PSU, Michigan, MSU and Wisconsin could all be ranked above Iowa when we play them. If we win, we start jumping. This is a good thing because it gives Iowa quality wins and boost their BCS standings come later on.

MSU won by a smaller margin than Iowa did, and did so against Colorado State. It's unlikely they jump us based of that win. However, if they beat Wisconsin, then expect them to jump above us, assuming we beat PSU (who is currently losing to Temple).

I agree but I have a feeling the pollsters will see 4-0 without their head coach and a "blowout" victory. Then they look at Iowa at 3-1 and aren't as impressed. I just feel like this is a routine now.

Could be right. We'll just have to wait and see.

Id say we will go down but I dont think that is will be because of what we did. I think just where we get pushed to depending on other teams.

Who cares what Iowa is ranked on September 25? I only care about what they are ranked at the end of the season. Also, it is a very tough schedule on paper. But bring it, anytime, anywhere. I want our opponents to be ranked when we beat them.

Standing matter a lot more than ratings... Rating$, Opinion$ are nothing more than a popularity contest that only matters for the top two teams at the end of the year. Other than that the Bowl Iowa heads to will be determined with Big Ten Standings.

Just keep winning... and as NWA says, "F the Pol..ls"

I would like to see evidence of Iowa disrespect in the polls. Last year we deserved to drop out after barely beating a FCS team. This year we are currently the highest rated one loss team. Last year we sky rocketed after beating Penn State and then stayed pretty much the same after beating a crappy Arkansas State team.

We also made a BCS bowl as a 2 loss team. I would love to see how the polls disrespect us.

Like others have said, rankings don't really matter in September. We do however want to play all of these teams ranked so when we beat them it helps us out. I however see us going up one spot in the polls because there is no way that Texas shouldn't drop below us the way they got spanked on their home turf. Also Penn St struggled with Temple, so they shouldn't jump us and neither should Mich. St as their win was not impressive enough to jump that many spots to leap frog us. Also South Carolina or Auburn will lose tonight too, so we shouldn't drop or stay the same we should be up one or possibly two spots.

I can't see Iowa moving down; Texas lost and will likely fall a long way. The #12 or #17 will get beat tonight in the form of S. Carolina or Auburn. I think it's more likely that Iowa moves up a spot or two or stays where they are as opposed to moving down.

Last year was favorable, but this year not so much. Beat ISU 35-7? Oh you can drop a little. Lose by 7 on the road against a top 25 team? We're going to drop you NINE SPOTS for that inexcusable loss.

If Texas is ranked ahead of us this week, I'll be pretty ticked. Losing at home against a bad UCLA team, and not just losing, but getting DRILLED, should drop them into the 20's. But it won't. And OU hasn't looked any too special either. I don't think they're really much better than Texas. What happens if Texas is ranked ahead of us, and then wins a close game against OU? Then both of them will be ahead of us when neither deserves it.

I just don't see Iowa moving down... Likely up...

Especially if Arizona and Oregon both lose. Two teams in front of Iowa have all ready lost, could be four by the end of the night.

I twatted this a few minutes ago, but does anyone know what channel the Zona/Cal game is on for Directv?
