Is it just me or did you never feel like Iowa was out of the game even when they were down 20 at half time? With Iowa overcoming double-digit deficits 4 times (UNI, PSU, Wisconsin & Indiana), I no longer have an apprehension that Iowa cannot come back in a game. Ask yourself if you felt this way when Iowa was trailing by 20 against Purdue in 2003 or 17 against ASU in 2004. I know I didn't feel this way back then.

I was worried, but I felt they had what they needed to get back in the game.

I had come to terms with the fact at halftime that Iowa's chances of winning were decreasing exponentially with every miscue and drive that didn't result in points.

I think I handled this loss better than some in the past. It was easy to point to what went wrong.

I think it's worse to get totally dominated by another team in every area. Basically having to realize they have better players, scheme, etc....
That wasn't the case against Arizona.

I will admit standing there in the stands I was getting bewildered when we were down by 21 points. I kept telling myself that if we went down by 28 it was over and I was going to walk. Then they started closing the gap, and there was a little glimmer of hope. Once we tied it back up I had no doubt that it was going to go into OT. I've seen the 4th quarter Stanzi before, and he is an awesome sight. Unfortunately it looked like Stanzi went too the well to many times in the past and there was nothing left, and after watching sack after sack after sack the last possession, I took off the "Taking Kinnick on the Road" shirt I bought the night before at the rally and left it sitting on the bleachers and walked down the stairs.

Sorry. That had to feel terrible to be there and witness that firsthand. But at least you didn't get flicked off by some obnoxious 70 year old like that poor little boy. What an idiot.

I agree about their attitude and resiliency being awesome, but I felt like Iowa lacked intensity at the start of the game. They certinly couldn't match Arizona's at the start. They were stoked and jacked up. Iowa seemed somewhat lackluster. That is until they got slapped around a little and that seemed to wake them up. It is just too bad they couldn't finish it off after all that hard work to get back into it. Tough loss, but move on and spank the rest of them to finish with just one loss. Go Hawks!

While not happy about how far down we were, I also really thought they were going to pull ahead in the fourth quarter...we had so many more productive fourth quarters last year and at the end of the third, I posted it was time for 4th quarter Ricky. We were spoiled with our first two games where the Hawks jumped out ahead right away and stayed there. Just as Kirk said after one of the first two games..."I'd like to get used to that"
