    Iowa vs. Stanford game thread

Honestly, I'm not sure those 11 points in a half would even give Iowa a win here. They might have too much ground to make up.

Maybe the Purdue men's team from the Big Ten tourney will come out after halftime. . . .

    Iowa vs. Stanford game thread

This practically defies the law of physics. I mean, that one girl already has 17 points and is shooting 100%. Ok, that happens in basketball from time to time when someone goes off. But their whole freaking team is doing it. How often do you see 5 or 6 players in the zone at the same time? Iowa...

    Iowa vs. Stanford game thread

Did you expect Stanford to shoot 90% and make all of their three pointers? Nobody is shocked that Stanford is winning, but the Hawks are playing really well and the Cardinal are still rolling. I've never seen anything like this in a men's or a women's game. If you think Stanford plays like this...

We're going to see a LOT of points tonight, folks.

Try SD ESPN. The HD broadcast shows one game nationally, and you have to watch standard definition in order to see the local game (if it's not the national one). Even in Iowa City I can't get Iowa on ESPNHD, but it is on regular ESPN.

    All of you flight stalkers...

They are flying to California to watch the women play Stanford. This isn't a secret, and has nothing to do with the coaching search (at least not directly). Non-story.

Rumore from the other site with link re: Forbes

I think the fact that Iowa has shown interest is important at this juncture (although certainly not shocking). I mean, it isn't surprising he wants the job. It would be a big step up from being an assistant (not to mention all the personal factors). And although Forbes has been mentioned around...

Rumore from the other site with link re: Forbes

And this is the 1,057th post you've made that added absolutely nothing of value. Which is worse? As for the link, it obviously isn't surprising that Forbes has drawn interest, but the fact that people at the tourney are talking about it means something.

Yeah, I just didn't know if there were estimated start times for weight classes. I'm thinking it'll be around 2:00, no?

Sign up for live blog from NCAAs | hawkcentral.com | Hawk Central but he can't do live updates in the usual form due to NCAA rules. Following the NCAA feed is better in my opinion. CBS College Sports All-Access

    Forbes bio....hope works

Here's what really stood out to me in that bio: His college baseball team was called the Muleriders. Seriously, though, I like him as a sort of last resort. If we are unable to get a big name (Pearl, Drew, etc.) than I hope Barta takes a long look at Forbes. I definitely would rather...

Mike & Mike have Pearl on

Actually, I think he was on the phone with an Iowa City real estate agent asking if anything is available with a down payment under $3.5 million :). Thanks for the update, hawkytalk. I assumed there wouldn't be anything of note, but you never know.

Mike & Mike have Pearl on

So, um, I'm assuming Iowa wasn't mentioned? I wasn't expecting it to be brought up (but another radio host asked him yesterday, so it's possible), but y'all can't just leave us hanging without at least a "nothing was said" or something . . .

Don't Dismiss the B.J. Armstrong Talk

I've come to the conclusion that half of all posters don't actually read the threads they respond to. Nobody has said B.J. will be the next Iowa coach or even that he should be the next Iowa coach. Anyway, wasn't B.J. involved with the last coaching search? I swear he was consulted (at least...

Congrats to the Iowa women, to play rutgers, wow!

If the seeds hold, by the end of round three the Iowa schools will have played #1 Stanford, #1 Nebraska, and #1 UCONN. One Iowa school against a one seed in each of the first three rounds---plus the Hawks will probably get Tennessee in the finals :).

Congrats to the Iowa women, to play rutgers, wow!

And, to round things out, ISU winds up as a 4 seed playing Lehigh in UCONN's region. Would get Virginia in the second round.
