Early Returns: Which True Freshmen Will Play for Iowa This Fall?

I believe the WR's will look good more based on the new playbook and people who are coaching them. The new system will really help the passing game once fully implemented and the players adapt to it.

    New red shirt proposal

I prefer the rule 5 years to play period no red shirts. but leave it so a player can play a 6th year if he petitions due to missing most of 2 years due to injury- same as now.

Howe: I Was Just Thinking…How Does This End Up for Gary Barta?

Pretty simple- either Barta consulted with Hr or he didn't. If he didn't fire him. If he did fire the head of HR. If things were documented it would of never happened period.

    Barta either way...

Simple- Barta consulted the attorney's prior to firing either of them and the attorney's advised him to do it. Also I am sure they did the same thing with the trial- advised not to settle it. Appeal will be coming as this is not close to over most likely.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

Some things are not brought out in the trial because it would make the Athletic department look bad. Corrective measures have been put into place so they should not occur again. They are well known by those within or closely associated with the Athletic department.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

Iowa refused to even discuss settlement per Meyers attorney. I know someone who stated flat out she was a huge problem- I can not go into details but she did a number of other things the U did not bring out but have put additional safeguards into place so it does not happen again.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

Her lawyers tried very hard to get the University to settle even stating 2 times in just the last week prior to trial and noted both times that the University never responded. Guess- upfront money and then a % if there is a settlement. Upfront money because they told her there was not a great...

A lot of people consider him the #1 player from Nebraska but he does not fit their 3-4 defense.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

Meyer told Griesbaum which players were complaining and what they were complaining about. It was not her place to do that. It led to players suffering retribution from Griesbaum. Meyer caused all kinds of problems when she got passed over for the promotion. FYI Meyer spent a huge amount of...

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

I am aware also that Meyer gave Field Hockey anything and everything at the point Barta was not aware of Meyer's relationship. He would not of done that if he was aware of the situation.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

Previously it was widely reported that Meyers told Griesbaum about the student complaints and then the coach basically sought revenge against those players. Supposedly that is how the whole thing got started.

Jurors hear starkly different portrayals in opening statements of Jane Meyer's case against Iowa

One item that will come out is that players went to Meyers to complain about the hockey coach. Meyers told the coach who complained about what. It was when the players figured out Meyers was doing that that they then went to other officials in the Athletic Department. and that got Meyers in...

    Meyer lawsuit goes to trial

Supervisor and subordinate- Almost every business of any size does not allow that for good reason. The assumption is the U of Iowa was aware of it.

    Meyer lawsuit goes to trial

It is not about sexual orientation. It is about a supervisor being in a relationship with a direct report, getting complaints of abuse about that report, then running and telling the report of the complaints about abuse.. Then the report takes revenge on the athletes who complained about her...

Meyers has a long history of having problems within the Athletic department. She was living with and a partner of a coach who reported to her. She then told the coach of complaints from athletes, which the coach turned around and punished for their complaints. This is not the first time...
