We haven't been ranked in the top 25 in nearly four years. Haven't beat a ranked opponent in three years. All while playing some of the weakest schedules I've ever seen. I'd say something hasn't been right for quite some time.

I think a more important question would be can he make all the throws. If the answer is he can't then he will never be anything more than a game manager and really shouldn't be asked to do much other than not screw it up for the running game and the defense.

He'd be a fool not to take the job. If he wants to be a head coach someday this is the type of experience that can seriously bolster his resume. It wouldn't be the end of the world for Iowa if he leaves. Hire AJ Blazek and move on.
