    so...did anyone shine ?

There have been a number of walk-ons who have played well for Iowa.

Transcripts: LeVar Woods & Chris White...good stuff

Are we arguing that dropped passes do not and cannot effect the first in ten effort because the routes are too short; that running after the catch was impossible. Were not the persons attempting to catch the ball receivers? A receivers job is to catch and run with the ball, hopefully, for a...

Transcripts: LeVar Woods & Chris White...good stuff

It's not really just a theory, it is a fact. The more first downs, the less three downs and out, the more time the defense spends on the bench. If catching the ball is not effective, why throw it? Because it is effective when receivers catch and run with it. Receivers catching the ball make...

Transcripts: LeVar Woods & Chris White...good stuff

No, just catching the ball will not always result in touchdown, but many times a first and ten. With each first gained, (by catching and running) the defense remains on the sidelines. Without catching it there are no first downs made, the coaching looks bad, and the quarterback looks bad.

    2013-2014 Preseason Basketball Polls List

Should Iowa raise their field goal percentage to .452 they will (I think) be a top ten team. They were given 7 points in the top 25 coaches poll.

Transcripts: LeVar Woods & Chris White...good stuff

In 2012 Iowa's quarterback had 14 fewer completions than in 2011. In both years Iowa led the Big Ten in dropped passes. Had it's receivers been adept catching the ball, the number of touchdowns would have been greater and the defense would have been on the field much less.

    Now the real question....

I was not overly impressed with the Baylor defense. Of course, they were able to get by without a good one, because Iowa attempted 69 baskets while making 18. Iowa had more offensive rebounds than did Baylor, but failed to put back most all of them. One might complain of the mistakes by...

    Who was the better team?

True. But, had Iowa been able to score in those last minutes they would easily have won, no matter the officiating. They went cold

ISU/OU Loser will be sweating on Sunday

I think Iowa will have to play better than they played in the second half tonight.

    National championship

Right. If one holds his opponent, thus allowing his running back to break free and score, (being unobserved,) that is just good play. Not so, too me.

Iowa Has Made Massive Improvement This Year

I think, had Gesell been able to score as well as had Gatens last year, Iowa may well have been a sweet sixteen team. Also, Iowa scpred only 19 points aginst Nebraska affter Mike left the game. Defensively, they are much better. Their ability to score well is lacking.

will we score more than 40?

Yes, too bad they could not score in the first.

No rumblings or rumors of QB battle?

    Like Jake Christianson?

Who Says We Can't Win @ Indy?

If Iowa scores 46%, it is more than possible. However . . . . .

    PSU v Mich

Possibly not, but it is my opinion (of little or no value) that Penn State will be a tough team next year.

    Iowa v Purdue Predictions

Important to their win loss, NIT seeding, recruiting, self-esteem and the esteem of their fans.

    Completely Hypothetical: Would you rather....

True. but should Iowa fail to dance. would it be well for them lose in the first round, or should they win the NIT. Would it matter to you?

4 years ago I couldn't even watch an Iowa Bball game

I think, had Gessel been as consistant at scoring as was Gatens, Iowa may have been a "sweet sixteen" team.

    Hawks at the combine

By a rather large margin, Iowa led the Big in dropped passes.
