This isn't entirely correct. Effort and desire are absolutely important, but so is positioning and instincts. You are much likely to have better execution with smarts and knowledge of fundamentals, otherwise, it's chickens running around with their heads cut off.

You're absolutely right. We averaged over 13 turnovers/game last season putting us at 222nd in the country. Knock that to 10 and we would go all the way to 15th. I am convinced this is possible, especially when you consider how many of our turnovers were of the unforced variety, sloppy passes...

I hope he does all of this. However, if he is going to get on teammates that dog it on defense, he sure better not be dogging it himself. He was the poster child for that last season.

While I understand the “show me first” mentality of many of the posts here, I am a bit more optimistic. Last season was a debacle and IMO, it went a lot further than not playing defense. If everyone stays reasonably healthy this season, I think we have the potential to make a tourney run. A few...
