this explains somt things

Yes it does. He never hit over .280 and then suddenly last year,on a one year contract with KC, he blows up to .305,and then this year even more...on a 6 million/yr deal. The temptation must be strong...the stuff clearly works, and he is going to bank at least 4 million of this years deal.

From Keith Law:
"Melky's BABIP this year was over 40 points higher than the career bests from Bonds, Palmeiro, or McGwire. I doubt the PEDs explain his year."

That's insane. One of the luckiest seasons ever if his BABIP is that high.

no matter what, given that he got caught, admitted to it, it will make everyone assume that he got better with the juice, and as follows, will regress to his prior numbers and will be paid accordingly, or less.

if this year had nothing to do with PEDS, he has to be one 'unlucky' guy then for giving the green light for it.

Is going from .280 to .305 really considered to be "blowing up"? Assuming about 500 AB's per season, that equates to about 12 more hits, or 1 more hit every 13 games.

do the math for .280 to .350.

i think you are correct on your statement, not sure about my question.

This year should be considered the "blow up". Hitting .346 with OPS of .906 this year (career avg is .752).

Something was up. Even with the abnormal BABIP I believe.

that's what lance said......i mean melky...

I think Lance doped.

On the other hand, how many times do pro football or baseball players get tested?

It's a joke.

Cyclists actually get tested HUNDREDS of times throughout their career. After races, before races. Get this. They get tested out of season. People just show up at your door and ask you to pee in a cup.

If that happened in Merrikan power sports things would change a LOT. However, no one wants to really stop testosterone and hGh use in Baseball and Football. Not really.

i'm pretty familiar with the fact that olympic sports (bicyclers included) people get tested plenty. just ask the Jamaica men's track team....wait a second.....

there is a reason that football players only use the juice over the summer....

Juicing doesn't help you hit the ball. It might give you more distance on your hits, more power. But it doesn't improve your hand-eye coordination. Which is why Bonds' numbers were off the charts. He had great plate discipline and great hand-eye coordination. You pair that with more bat speed, and your numbers are bound to improve.
