Pro day

I really think Iowa prospects are going to have a poor draft. Clayborn and Ballard are tweeners. If Stanzi ends up as a solid back up that will be a success. Reisner isn't athletic enough to make an impact in the NFL. DJK and Sash have the best opportunity to make an impact at the next level.

These are just my opinions...

interesting analysis, but i'd be shocked to see AC go in the second round.

I agree. Any draft scout worth anything will be able to account for many of the factors that contributed to why Clayborn had less impressive production in 2010. It gets kinda irritating watching folks yap about things based off a stat line rather than breaking down the tape and legitimately doing their homework.

Ballard ran a 4.68 today. If a team can't find a use for that kind of athleticism in a guy his size, then the NFL is bound for a serious drop in performance in a few years.

Clayborn would seem to fit perfectly as a 3-4 end. A bit of a tweener in a 4-3 though.

The contradictions in that video are funny. They say Clayborn doesn't have the quickness to be a pass rusher, and then say that he has really good times in the cones (best at the combine) which signals a good pass rusher.

I'm not sure he has the speed. He's mostly a bull rusher. He can stop and go quickly, has great fast-twitch reflexes. But he doesn't have great straight-line speed. He's not going beat a lot of NFL tackles with a speed rush. Maybe I'm wrong, that's just my opinion.

a speed rush is only about 10 yards. he's not going to chase people down like ballard, but he's fast enough to take on a tackle.

homer, isn't it weird when they evaluate on a stat line? that's just laziness. there are only 40 or so potential 1st rounders, at least look at the tape on them.
