I HATE BTN

That's the whole point; why would the BTN put Iowa in a position where no one will choose to watch their game. They could have had it on when the wrestling match was being show Saturday afternoon. There was absolutely no need to put it up against the NFL on the day of the conference championship games. The message is that you, Iowa, will play whenever the hell we tell you to play irrespective of the impact on your fans and TV ratings. Obviously, too many of us will choose to watch the NFL-that doesn't make it right that the BTN would make such a decision.

1. Unless you have a rooting interest for Iowa or Indiana no one gives a sh*t about this game. Even is this game were on Saturday anyone with a brain would have watched one of far better games being shown on multiple networks.

2. Was the wrestling game shown live? Why shouldn't wrestling get at least a few live meets shown on BTN? Big 10 Wrestling deserves to be showcased as well.

3. It's called DVR, I don't have DVR but I bet half the people ******** about this have DVR.

4. Indiana was playing Michigan last Saturday night on BTN. I remember watching about 2 minutes of the game, and being so bored by it I never came back. I could really care less about watching two horrible bottom feeding teams. Neither team even has a player I would really care to watch. This is the exact same fate the Iowa vs. Indiana game would suffer from all other people who could care less about either team and that is a WHOLE LOT OF VIEWERS!!!

Back to reality, the game really sucks. Who cares.

I will watch the game but I am not delusional thinking that it would get great ratings no matter where you put it.

I agree with this, that the only people that will be watching are fans of Iowa and Indiana regardless of when this game is played.

As far as your #2 point, the Iowa/Ohio St wrestling meet was live yesterday and the BTN does show a live meet every Friday night for wrestling.

I don't think the NFC title game time slot was already set in stone months ago. If a west coast team were alive and hosting the game, it would have been the late game instead.

Yes it is set in stone. This year CBS got the late start for the Championship game. So Fox gets the early one. The start time for the 1st game is 2:00 so that if the game was played out West it would be a noon local time start and not be a problem. They changed this several years ago so that the 2nd game was into a similar time slot as the Super Bowl.

It's called DVR.

Yes, because DVR's have the ability to plug our ears and poke out our eyes so we don't see or hear the score anywhere else. Duh, 2nd post like this and it's brainless. What true Iowa fan DVR's games to watch them later? Very few. You watch the games live, period. Iowa fans are used to watching games on Saturday's and most people like it that way. The fact is the BTN has not been kind to Iowa at all the last few years with start times and days for both home and away games.

Don't be upset with the BTN, be p'ssed at Lickliter. Because of him, the Hawks are horse crap.

The BTN has to fill programing and crappy teams get crappy time slots. Other than Iowa & Indiana fans (combined 1-11 in conference play), who the hell wants to watch theses two teams?

Until the Hawks become competitive, they will continue to be on the BTN at lousy times on Sunday. Get over it! It's not the BTN's fault. CBS & ESPN sure do not want to televise Iowa basketball. You should be thankful that the BTN has to televise Iowa basketball games.

Is it because of Lick we play Sunday afternoons? What a ********* time to play.

I'm a true Iowa fan, and I've recorded at least 2 games this season to watch later. I didn't bother with the UNI game because I knew BTN was replaying it about 2 hours later. It's not really that difficult to not see or hear the scores elsewhere.

Were you really worried that they would show the score of the Iowa/Indiana basketball game during the NFC title game?

I am a true Iowa fan, and I actually prefer to watch a game on the DVR rather than live. I do this for both football and basketball. It isn't that hard to keep from hearing the score in most cases. I like to start watching a football game about an hour after the kickoff. This way, I skip all the commercials, and still watch the end of the game nearly live.

because of work on the weekends and night classes during the week, i record nearly every game and watch it later. i also get alerts on my phone so i know whats going on live. then i watch it later even if i know what happens. guess that makes me extremely bored rather than a true fan. i mean shame on my teachers and managers at work for having class and scheduling work during iowa basketball games. i mean i give them the official BTN schedule before the season, they should know better.

i live in central florida and without the BTN i would see zero games live or recorded, this is why the the BTN is great, you guys need to get a grip, come on

And I would argue that you are in the minority. The vast majority of people watch sporting events live. If they didn't, networks wouldn't pay major money to put games on during primetime.

Again, you are in the minority. DVR'ing the games works well for you, I'm glad. How about those of us that actually attend the games? These ****** start times don't help us that try to make games now and again.

well if your are one who attends the game, one could argue that you are in the minority. just kidding, sort of. i just think people get bent out of shape when a fellow Hawkeye fan judges whether or not they are a true fan or not, especially from the vantage point of a mostly anonymous fan board

Nobody is getting bent out of shape. It was a ridiculous comment for him to make in the first place. Using a DVR is not brainless and even suggesting it is idiotic.
