Bringin' it!!!!!!!!!!!

That is exactly what I expected out of this kid. Sweet, sweet, playin' my man. If you can bring this kind of intensity night in and night out, you will be all-big10 before you are through at Iowa.

Well done.

It's amazing what a change in style does for your personality lol. I swear it seemed like you had nothing but b*tches last year. But I agree, Brommer is improving at a rapid pace. With Basabe, Cole, and Brommer, we could have a very solid core of bigs by the end of the year.

Amen! It was like going to the dentist every game for me last year and each time he would forget the novocaine.

This year I could care less what our record turns out to be simply because I know that we are turning the corner and steaming towards the NCAAs again. The staff rocks. We need to add a few more players to be a legit contender but I like what I see on the floor.

This was a huge game for both programs and both programs really stepped it up. I wish we could have won the game but in all honesty I think we came out looking like the better team. If it wasn't for that kid lighting us up for 30+ from behind the arc we would have easily coasted tonight. The recruits have got to see whats what and I expect to see better ballers sign in the near future. Two yrs from now we are going to be in the NCAAs and we are going to make some noise.

I'll be honest with you, I've always gotten quite a chuckle at watching Brommer previously. Just seemed out of his element.

But, no more. He's added some nice things to his game. If he stays away from the dumb fouls, he can be a nice player for you.

He was embarrassing to watch last year. He just did not fit Lick's system AT ALL. He's able to play with much more confidence this year, because he doesn't seem to have to spend all his time thinking about what he's supposed to do. He just goes out and does it.

Not to put a damper on this, but ISU has virtually no post presence. Brommer likely won't play like that against better competition.

But, he's gotta be one of the most improved guys from one year to the next that Iowa's had. Hell, he couldn't shoot a free throw in the last two years. He obviously works hard.

He's been playing at a similar level for most of the season, and it's a level that he never touched under Lickliter. He'll take a step back in Big 10 play, but he's still a viable option now.

He looks like he's hit the weight room big time which has helped and his confidence is so much better than it was the last couple of years and he actually has a couple of post moves.

His free throws still look ugly as hell but that could be said for most of the team.

Thanks for this thread.

I have season tix with Hawkeye101 and we joked all last year and this year about Brommer being "his boy", the fact AB typically got more fouls than points, and, we always had a side bet on whether he'd score or foul first. Sort of a morbid fan club.

Last night, Ron and I transitioned into a non-morbid fan club....high-fiving, and seriously, appreciating the progress he's made.

Andrew Brommer...All League by 2012!

Post presence or not, The points Brommer got, the boards he got were EFFORT and HUSTLE! He is the garbage man that this team needs. Great effort by the kid.

If Iowa had any 3 point shooting defensive presence than maybe that white boy doesn't go off for 30. Don't try to downplay a great effort and game by my new favorite Hawkeye.

Brommer actually shot 75% from the line last year. He has definitely regressed so far this year. But it just shows how he is willing to work on his game and his performance on the floor shows the results.

Definitely the turn around story of the year so far! His energy and enthusiasm is a welcome site. Anyone bad mouthing Andrew now either does not know basketball, is an idiot, or ....well I think you can fill in the blank.
