Do you remember who their D coordinator is? Greg Robinson. I fogot they hired him until I saw him on the sideline for the MSU game.
No Wonder Michigan's Defense Sucks.

Why does everybody think Robinson is a terrible defensive coordinator. The man won two super bowls as the defensive coordinator of the Broncos.
Michigan overhauled their defense after last season. They went from a base 3-4 defense to Rich Rods' 3-3-5 scheme. You only play that scheme if you don't have the studs up front. They can't even field a decent front seven so Michigan went to a gimmick defense.
If I was a Michigan fan I would be worried. Rich Rod doesn't understand Big Ten football. Big Ten football has always been about lining up and beating the snout out of the opponents. Since the days of Bo Michigan's offensive line would come to the line of scrimage and they would block out the sun.
Iowa may lose to Michigan on Saturday, but they won't lose the physical battle. To win the Big Ten you have to win the physical battle week after week. Until Michigan can start regularly winning the physical battles they will be a middle of the pack team or worse. This is not your dad's or grandpa's Michigan. Until they can compete physically with Ohio State, the Bucks will dominate the series.
Actually, this game is almost irrelevant! We lose to Michigan and win out, Iowa will go to the Rose Bowl.

Another reason the Hawks should win. Michigan is one of the poorest tackling teams I have seen. With ARob's style of running and staying low he will have defenders bouncing off of him. The passing game could benefit also with Reisner and McNutt and their size and strength. Go Hawks

Did you know Pete Carroll doesn't coach USC anymore? Also, Bo Schembechler died.
I kid, I kid. As I posted elsewhere, its genuinely hard to evalute GR's work as d-coordinator right now. Is it on him that they're starting bunches of true freshman? Or that RR forced him into a Big East-style 3-man front which has ZERO chance of working against the Big Ten's O-lines and ground games? A little QB named John Elway had a bit to do with those Super Bowls. Denver's defense in those years was pretty average.

He was the Chiefs defensive coordinator for a few years when they had the worst defense in the NFL.
