Some of you guys are like Charlie Brown watching Lucy tee up the ball again.Spill
And some of you get mad for no reason. I didn't claim anything, I didn't claim to know about Woods. Some of you guys are like Charlie Brown letting Lucy tee up the ball again.
"Mad"? Chuckling at something is not mad.And some of you get mad for no reason. I didn't claim anything, I didn't claim to know about Woods.
I could understand you getting mad if I "claimed" something or insinuated something, but all I said was literally "hmmmmmmmm..." and "hehe."
You're mad if I claim something, and mad if I don't. What can I do to help?
I hope I run into him sometime in East Lansing. I can welcome the fellow NW Iowa transplant to Michigan.Per Chad L
As far as coaches go, Ferentz really hasn't been to that many places and only as a head coach at Maine & Iowa. He is the anomaly as far as coaches go, IMO.I think it's a possible scenario that Beth/KF have had conversations with Levar that if he is interested in becoming a head coach it would be beneficial for him to go to other places and learn. It's not like Kirk stayed in one place and in fact it is really common in coaching to move around. Woods has actually been outside the norm for staying on one place for so long.
As for favoritism with Wallace I have no inside information or have not been involved with any of those conversations. Maybe this is as far as Wallace is wanting to go in terms of coaching ranks. Maybe this will set Levar apart from Wallace? Levar has had a chance to leave before as had Wallace so we don't know what has been discussed in their private meetings.
No sure why either. Why is Wallace getting such favorable treatment??? WHY.
He was at the Browns and Baltimore as well even though it was the same organization as well as Pitt early on. So he has moved and also moved to experience the professional ranks while not a head coach he still got the experience and setup those relationships. Coaching is a crazy profession especially at the higher ranks. Lots of nuances that we cannot see or are known to usAs far as coaches go, Ferentz really hasn't been to that many places and only as a head coach at Maine & Iowa. That's pretty much every coach though. Making 10 stops is pretty normal. He was at the Browns and Baltimore as well even though it was the same organization as well as Pitt early on. And Mich St. might be sitting pretty good. Get an experienced HC Fitz who's had that experience for years and in the BIG 10. Woods can learn under him and transition to a HC after Fitz hangs it up. Great transition opportunity for Mich St. Mich St. could finally have some stability and solid coaching for years to come.It makes sense. It makes all the sense frankly. Being able to put that associate HC title on his resume and triple his salary I'm guessing shoulda made this an easier decision then what's been lead on. Staying in the BIG coaching with Fitz shouldn't be any kind of major cultural transition of any kind. If things go well there for him and say KF stays coaching for another couple yrs he could put himself squarely in position to be on the short list to replace him.
What Beth decides to do when that happens will be fascinating. I don't foresee her pulling a Pollard and having KFs replacement all figured out within a day of KF stepping down. That'd be nuts
Interestingly enough Mason he said is going to stay with Iowa. That's pretty cool I wouldn't have guessed that. I'm sure KF and Hodge couldn't be happier to keep him.
Well unless things go off the rails I wouldn't see Fitz going anywhere else anytime soon either. I'd bet KF retires before Fitz moves on for whatever reasons. Fitz is still a young guy isn't he? 50s I would think. He was really young when he first got Northwesterns gig. I hope MSU realizes just how good of a home run hire they made getting him. They couldn't have done better. And Mich St. might be sitting pretty good. Get an experienced HC Fitz who's had that experience for years and in the BIG 10. Well, of course Ferentz will. But Woods may be entrenched at Mich St. and feel indebted they provided him a path. In addition, there is something to being a part of building something from the ground up. At Iowa, it's already built. I dunno though. Oh I don't think so. If KF steps down in 2 yrs and Beth wants to interview Woods he'd drop everything to do that. I'd be shocked if he was to rather stay MSUs associate HC/Sp coach instead of becoming Iowas HC. That doesn't hardly make sense to me.
