Jake Gervase on Mississippi State Talking Crap

Iowa's younger players were reacting to the talk, the veterans let their play do all the talking.

This plays into the 'celebrating every play' thread......I didn't have an issue with the MSU players running their mouth at the beginning of the game and Iowa silencing it at the end. Football is a emotional sport and I get both perspectives. Sportsmanship at the end of the game is what I cared about, they shook hands and Iowa got their respect.

They were talking trash during the teams' visit to a children's hospital last week. That's a place pretty close to the Hawkeyes' hearts.

That's probably why they did it. They knew they had to get in their heads to win and it still didn't work.

Throat slash gesture, using your helmet to hit an upright player in the head and then durning the game get on Twitter and complain that it was a bad call. A Miss State reciever, after the game, said Iowa didn’t win that Miss State beat themselves. Yet Iowa gave them back to back turnovers on a bad pass and a fluke fumble. Iowa threw 2 TD passes. Hasn’t happen all year against Miss State. And shit talking at a children’s hospital charity event. What a bunch of trash

Mississippi State definitely had the talent Edge but Iowa had the discipline advantage. Look at the penalty yards. It was great to watch ESPN do nothing but praise the Mississippi State high draft picks and The Underdogs win in the end. The goal line stand was incredible. I was on one of the MSU boards after the game and those with common sense admitted the Bulldogs played undisciplined. I love when I see trash talkers get it shoved up their rear...

#38 on MSU must have been the best player in the SEC in a couple of decades as much screen time as he got.

trash talking at a children's hospital is not part of the game. what kind of an idiot are you?
Was referring to trash talk during the game while I was watching.

You aren't supposed to call other posters idiots...thanks!

Awaiting ownership of idiot comment, and apology.

I don't mind the trash talking during the game even though I think it lacks class. What made me mad was the constant physical contact with players after the whistle, especially the ball carriers/receivers. Always slapping their heads, shoving them back into the turf....refs could have called multiple unsportsmanlike penalties IMHO.

you weren't clear in light of the context.

you should just take the idiot question as a form of trash talking as part of posting on a sports board like you consider trash talking as part of a football game.

so just like a football game, now that it's over, a handshake.
