Jake Gervase on Mississippi State Talking Crap

Throat slash gesture, using your helmet to hit an upright player in the head and then durning the game get on Twitter and complain that it was a bad call. A Miss State reciever, after the game, said Iowa didn’t win that Miss State beat themselves. Yet Iowa gave them back to back turnovers on a bad pass and a fluke fumble. Iowa threw 2 TD passes. Hasn’t happen all year against Miss State. And shit talking at a children’s hospital charity event. What a bunch of trash

Even better, Iowa threw 3 TD passes. Easley had 2 TD catches himself. ISM had the other one.

How in the blue hell are their fans allowed to bring freaking cow bells into the game. Even the sideline reporter said many times they kept the bells going after the ball was snapped. Officials allowed Bellamy as long as the fans, pinkie sweared not to do it after ball was snapped. And if they did... of boy they would get a stern talking to. Or the team would have to pay a hearty fine of $5,000. Bad enough ESPN and their announcers slobber all over the SEC s poles. Now bowl officials want to jump in on the slobbering... imagine being an Iowa fan setting next to the annoying ass cowbells..

you weren't clear in light of the context.

you should just take the idiot question as a form of trash talking as part of posting on a sports board like you consider trash talking as part of a football game.

so just like a football game, now that it's over, a handshake.
Admitting mistakes, apologizing, tougher than winning a football game, very personal.

Was referring to trash talk during the game while I was watching.

You aren't supposed to call other posters idiots...thanks!

Awaiting ownership of idiot comment, and apology.
You can't? I'm sorry but why can't you? I expect to be called one because it is fun and I'm on a message board and enjoy the banter.

Lets make the DJ Airhorn (fwah fwah fwaaaah) our signature call that they have to allow next time. Let them have it. Its part of the atmosphere. Bowls need people's bottoms to fill seats, be happy and spend money. They dont care about competitive advantage. Neither did the Hawks. We just took care of business.

Do you remember the player?
I'd like to read the comments.

Another way to say it is, "I misunderstood the intent of your comments."

They were able to shut down the run game, which we sort of knew was suspect all season in many games. That was the best D Line that Iowa faced all season. The discipline (except the turnovers) is one of the main reasons Iowa won without any run game. I wonder if the guys trying to block Epenesa and A Nelson agree they were more talented.

Mississippi State definitely had the talent Edge but Iowa had the discipline advantage. Look at the penalty yards. It was great to watch ESPN do nothing but praise the Mississippi State high draft picks and The Underdogs win in the end. The goal line stand was incredible. I was on one of the MSU boards after the game and those with common sense admitted the Bulldogs played undisciplined. I love when I see trash talkers get it shoved up their rear...

Did they though....? or are you and others just buying into the media propaganda? Is it just me or is there anybody else who really did not see a speed advantage, or superior physical advantage. Miss St. players came off to me as a bunch of thugs. Iowa kept their composure.

It's not like Iowa was undersized, less physical or less athletic. I don't even know why Miss St. was favored by so much. I've always viewed Miss. St. as a mediocre SEC team. Yes, they are in the SEC, but they sure are not a Alabama, LSU or Florida. I don't know why they had so much cred. Iowa is a very solid BIG team so I always thought the two teams would be a good match-up and quite close.

This argument that the SEC has such better talent or speed usually turns out to be a bunch of crap. I didn't see it yesterday, that is for sure.

The run game for both teams was going to come out as a "push" that game. I told my wife and boys that it was going to come down to how well Stanley plays and found receivers. I knew Miss. St. QB and passing game wasn't that scary.

It was going to come down to how well Stanley could handle the pressure, get the ball out quick and hit his receivers. Everything else in the game was pretty much a push, as far as who had the advantage.

okay.

i misunderstood the intent of your comments. since you typically quote Rob in disagreement I naturally assumed you would continue in character form. My bad. I misunderstood.

and you should just stop trash talking Hawk players and coaches it not. go ahead. be the leader.

They’ll be more NFL players from Iowa than MSU that played on that field yesterday.

Childish deflection.

#38 on MSU must have been the best player in the SEC in a couple of decades as much screen time as he got.

No kidding. I especially like the screen time of him trying to run down Easley. Then in true ESPN fashion, the announcer finds the good in an absolutely horrible read by the safety..."well, he was catching him, but he ran out of real estate." Nice take you morons. How about focusing on the bonehead play he made...like, he did the only thing he couldn't afford to do...look in the backfield and bite on the play action...but he did it anyway. But boy...could he run.
