I thought IKM was going to be the change of pace back to Toren Young. IKM has shown a nice burst of speed in his limited play time.

Playing time for Brock is just as plentiful at jNW. We're both speculating dean, this isn't a who is right contest, at this point, because we won't know until Brock signs with who he picks. but even as a "walk on" i see real talent with Sargent and he looks like a legit player to me and that is why i think its at least possible the staff is concerned about Brock.

I've seen two articles now that say he's going to be on scholarship. Which if he's good enough he should be.

Any coach who's hesitant to give a good player a scholarship for fear of what an incoming recruit would think is a fucking idiot. If you remember a couple years ago everyone was kneeling at the throne of Eno Benjamin like he was the second coming of Christ, and look how that turned out for ASU. Daniels, Wadley, Canzeri, and Butler were all less hyped than him and I'd take either of those four over Benjamin any day.

Especially if said incoming recruit isn't even committed let alone signed. Bird in the hand when it comes to the RB position for sure.

If Sargent can come in and play right away, with 3 years of eligibility it will be like he wasn't even a transfer. Freshmen don't run the ball at Iowa anyway, so basically he just got a lot of really, really good practice somewhere other than Iowa City. If he's as good as the non-Hawkeye media says he is, I don't see a downside here.
 




IDK. I really don't care. It's just nice to have some depth and competition in that room. I'm not saying they don't work hard, but everyone knew and anointed #1 and #2 rb last year.
That's why it would be nice to get some young hungry guys in there. Face it at the beginning of last year we knew nobody was going to unseat Wadley and by the end of the year we already were saying next year.......
Like I said I'm not saying they didn't know their time was coming and didn't work hard it's just nice for motivation. Pretty much what Wadley said about the group last year.
 



yeah. the fact that i don't think ND was necessarily going to offer, but did offer when brock appears to have held firm to announcing in July, then i think ND is serious, here. don't know about brock, but ND is and ND is still one helluva draw.

I still can't wrap my head around who in their right mind would choose to play for Brian Kelly when their choices are so plentiful. The dude is a straight up piece of shit.

Anyone remember that poor grad student that Kelly sent 3 stories into the air on a day with 70mph wind gust. You know that kid that got blown off and died. The same one that Kelly said leaned over the structure too far resulting in the fall. All just to get some practice footage. I have literally prayed that Brian Kelly gets ran over by a bus.

If Brock chooses that puke then good riddance.

have you ever been to the ND campus? I have. I was actually fortunate enough to go to a game with my Dad. Chills, my friend, chills. There is a mystique that cannot be explained, easily. kelly is a boob and i wish he'd leave. but ND, the school, would be worth playing for. PLUS...you graduate with a degree from ND and you're writing your own ticket to millions.

I understand the lure of the institution and the deep tradition of the football program, but as a person I could never reconcile pledging to follow a man like Kelly. He is not the kind of person I would ever care to go to battle for.

Is Brock even Catholic?

P.S. Yes. Have been to Notre Dame, Indiana a couple of times. Have never attended a football or basketball game though. For what it's worth, Notre Dame for me did not impress anymore than the majority of campuses I have visited.

Unless you're into churches & cathedrals, it's not really that big of a deal.

LOL. Catholic. I don't know if he is or not. But, last I heard, that wasn't a requirement.

There are plenty of *sshole coaches out there. MSU has one and some would argue so do OSU and UM. I think ND was stuck with kelly because they'd blown through several HC's in succession and were paying a fortune to former coaches. but whatever the reason's he's still there, i don't like him. but the mystique of ND can trump a lot of other things.

Of course being Catholic is not a requirement for attendance, however that golden ticket to millions you speak of is often reserved for members of the club. Being some free ride jock is not exactly admittance to the club. Unless he is an eventual star player, ND legacy, or from money then Notre Dame will churn him out with no special benefit like they do for 70% of their Alumni.
