I have a question that may be a bit off subject, but it is mentioned in the article. How tall is Jack Nunge? I've seen him listed anywhere from 6' 9" to 6' 11". Just curious .. ..
GO HAWKS!!!
I know .. but if you do a search for him on Google, you'll see a number of sites. Some list him at 6'9", some list him at 6'10" and some list him at 6'11". His high school's athletic web site lists him at 6'11" and 220 pounds. Now, I know high schools have a tendency to put out misinformation, but there are other sites listing him as that tall. I'm just wondering what's accurate.Yes it said he is 6'9" and 210 lbs.

With such a deep rotation and with such a small difference from the starters to the reserves, it's time for Fran to let the players play with fouls. Sitting on the bench for long periods of time getting out of rhythem, all for the chance that you might need them at the end of the game, is flawed logic.
More often then not, the player in foul trouble never makes a meaningful contribution anyway because they never get into the flow and play to tentatively when they're out there. If Cook gets fouls, keep him in his normal rotation and tell him to stay aggressive but be a little smarter. If he fouls out with 10 minutes left, hopefully the game is out of reach anyway. If not, is it that big of a deal to have Pemsl out there? Like Wolfgang says, don't foul out your own players.
When he signed with Iowa, the Hawkeyes listed him at 6-11, 220 - LINK.
That's probably based on his high school listing. We'll find out when he gets here.
I saw Garza and Nunge standing together on the field before a game when they visited. Garza looked taller and definitely thicker.
The only thing Rob wrote about expectations is that they will be raised next season -- an NIT birth will be a serious disappointment. He's right. But making the NCAA is not a "high" expectation.I thought the article was pretty well written as it identified strengths and weaknesses on the team. Rob also briefly touched on how Iowa does when expectations are high and that part of Hawkeyes sports isn't pretty in football or basketball.
Making the NCAA tournament does not equal high expectations. If that's anyone's idea of high expectations, that person(s) should be beaten into unconsciousness with a rubber hose. Those can be the expectations. But you can't say those are high expectations.
This is just to easy.I grew six inches one summer.
