Worse things have been said in athletic competitions but still... Actually, Aaron should take it as a compliment that they know he means as much to Iowa that they need to get on him.

White hit a running jumper, then 1-of-2 at the line with the Buckeye student section chanting “We didn’t want youâ€￾ to cut the lead to 63-59 with 1:29 to play.

Students/fans are stupid. I understand that things are said to throw them off while shooting but that is just classless.

My wife and I were at a game when Lickliter was still there when they upset MSU at home. People were yelling at the players calling them f@gs and stuff like that. We were sitting by a MSU fans (couple and their son who looked college age) and it wasn't going over well. I was extremely embarressed and we apologized and their response was a very rude "Whatever, don't speak to us".

Nothing will ever beat the "Where's your dad?" and "PLO" chants at Steve Kerr from the ASU fans for inappropriate student section chants. If this bothers White then he just needs to suck it up.

I personally think that the "air ball" chant is only good until that player makes 2 more shots after that. After that, it seems pointless.

Personally, I like his demeanor. Iowa hasn't had someone like that on their team for a long, long time.

I don't have a problem with it although I think it's just as stupid as our student section yelling "sucks" right after the PA announces the other teams starter's names.

That said, any smart Ohio State fan would disagree with the student section and any coach would love to have a scrapper like White on their team just ask Bo Ryan.

With Spank here. I like that about Aaron ... a feistiness that Iowa hoops hasn't had for a while. As long as he keeps it in check (doesn't commit stupid foul, get T'd up), uses it to drive his own game and motivate teammates, it's fine.

Don't disagree at all, however, gotta be smart about it. Staring down the student section and spouting a few choice words is NOT smart. Period. It only allows that student section know that you heard them. The idea is to completely ignore them and let your game do the shutting up.

You got that right. The real question is whether or not the student section chants are witty, funny and/or original. That's the point. It's OK to be cutting, sarcastic, cynical and cruel... although did ASU fans really chant to Steve Kerr?

"Where's your Dad? and PLO" That is a low blow and curious if it really happened and how soon after Kerr's Dad was killed in Lebanon. Not surprised from the people/students of Arizona and Arizona State.

For a variety of reasons they have some pretty ugly, racist, bigoted, and horrible people living there. What do you expect with temperatures from Hell from April thru October.

Before he got that rebound and foul, he missed two free throws in a row. Seeing as how AW shot 40 points below his season average for free throws, I'd say he not only let the OSU fans in his head, but he put out a nice Gouda spread and a chilled Pinot.

It's just another mental game that the visiting team has to play. Unfortunately once White went back at the OSU student section it showed them how much they were in his head, and that they had won. Not saying I respect it or it is justified, but at the same time once the player acknowledges it then the fans have done their job as the player is no longer 100% focused on what he should be focused on.
