You're Brian Ferentz and Phil Parker...

Offense needs to spread the D out. Go with one back sets so we can get another receiver on the line

On defense play straight man on receivers, Jam the receivers at the line in hopes that our linebackers can get to the quarterback or running back quickly

Now what will do on offense is pound the ball out of our I set formation and we will beat it to death even if we are not gaining a single yard.

What the defense will do is play 10 yards off the receiver and 5 yards behind them once the blow by us.

Seriously, I fail to see how more revenue makes Penn State more likely to win this game. Maybe my tinfoil hat just isn't on tight enough, but I'm not following you.

If we get momentum, we might see some of the following:
--Phantom penalties ("Hold" here, "chop block" there)
--P$U "injuries", especially if we are going no-huddle, that go unabated
--PI calls against Iowa DBs, but ZERO PI calls against P$U DBs
--Book it (ala P$U fan "poz" a few years back) that we will get a targeting call
--If Barkley does another high-step-and-taunt, it won't be called

We need to use the same 'defense' we used in the second half against NTS which is to posess the ball for 9+ minues at a time in the run game because our defense can't stop PSU's or NTS's offense.

Boy, the wonks at ESPN who want Iowa to be walloped by PSU will be annoyed if old style Iowa football occurs and Iowa has a chance of winning..

This is all going to come down to Iowa's defense. If Iowa's defense breaks, it's a long night for the Hawkeye's.

I agree with the high-step and possibly the injuries, but otherwise I'm not buying it. We'll see soon enough though.

There's no doubt in my mind Iowa's defense is going to break. For Iowa to win, Iowa's offense needs to make sure PSU's offense doesn't get many touches.

Homer, I must have missed something- consecutive posts from you that don't mention Wadley??

Did you guys break up?

Did he kick you to the curb once he got famous?

I am so sorry!

Agree with this. Our defense will either need to force turnovers, or PSU just drops passes or is way off with their execution. If they play like they normally do, Iowa will be lucky to hold them under 30

So that means the Iowa offense has to keep them off the field, and score points. We won't win a shoot out against them, but if we can limit their possessions and take advantage of our own then maybe we have a shot.

This is assuming we don't make mistakes.
