On another website, they conducted this exercise. Hard to limit it to 10 , but in no particular order: 1. 1985 Mich (12-10 Iowa) 2. 1985 MSU (35-31 Iowa) 3. 1981 MSU (win sent Iowa to Rose Bowl) 4. 2008 Penn St. (win over #2 team in country on one poll) 5. 2015 Pitt (Koehn's moonshot) 6. 1956 Ohio St (6-0 win sent Iowa to the Rose Bowl) 7. 1939 Notre Dame (7-6 win starring Nile Kinnick) 8. 2002 Purdue (Banks leads Iowa on game-winning drive) 9. 1981 Neb. (shocking 10-7 upset) 10. 2004 Wisconsin (Iowa clinches Big Ten title under the lights). Honorable mention: 1939 Minnesota (Kinnick turns 9-0 deficit into 13-9 upset); 1952 Ohio St. (winless Iowa shocks undefeated Ohio St. 8-0 in biggest upset of 1952 season); 1960 Ohio St. (Iowa annihilates #2 Ohio St. 35-12; Woody Hayes calls Evy the best offensive mind in college football); 1974 UCLA (IA defeats #12 Bruins; Cummings coins Iowa "the Chosen Children"); 1977 Iowa State (12-10 in resumption of series); 1983 Ohio St. (Iowa beats #4 Ohio St 20-14; serpentine TD on 70 yard pass play); 1984 Michigan (IA shuts out Bo, 26-0); 1985 ILL (Long bombs ranked Illini, 59-0); 2003 Mich, 35-31 win; 2004 Ohio St (IA blasts ranked Buckeyes, 33-7); 2009 Michigan (31-28 under the lights); 2010 MSU (IA blasts #6 Sparty); 2011 Pitt (great comeback); 2013 NW (OT thriller); 1922 Notre Dame (IA wins 10-7 and breaks long unbeaten streak by ND and Rockne)

Great list, even includes the old games. However the win over Rockne's Notre Dame team was played at Iowa Field, and the year was 1921. There are so many good games it is hard to pick just 10. The 1956 win over OSU can never be underestimated in it's importance at the time.

You are correct; the 1921 Notre Dame game was played at Iowa Field, not Kinnick. My error...I should have named the exercise "Top 10 games for Iowa in Iowa City"

I'd participate, but 10 is a ridiculously high number to request.

Five, maybe. Three, sure.

But 10? Come on, man.

(Hats off to anyone who satisfies your request.)

Getting this down to 10 at Kinnick was hard. I know there are a lot of great wins I left out, but here we go.

1. 1985 Michigan
2. 1956 Ohio State
3. 1981 Nebraska
4. 1939 Notre Dame
5. 2008 Pedo State
6. 1974 UCLA
7. 1983 Ohio state
8. 2004 Wisconsin
9. 1958 Northwestern
10. 1942 Wisconsin

I'm short on time, tonight, so I'll start with 3.

1) Believe it was 2009, when Brett Greenwood intercepted Illinois to seal the
Win for Hawkeyes. It was also my birthday, that day.

2) Drew Tate leading Hawkeyes to win vs Wisconsin and IOWA's Big Ten Championship.

3) Marshall Koehn, ANF, 57 yard kick night...........absolutely BEAUTIFUL night at Kinnick.

Some of the best games I've personally attended.. though so many that I can't remember older ones.

Indiana game when we were down huge and Sash has a huge fumble return and we scored a ton of pts in the 4th... also the MSU game with the int and lateral to Sash.

I was at 2004 Wisconsin game also... so many I can't remember.

The worse by FAAAAAAR ... 2002 Isu game.

That was the biggest buzz kill ever.

hats off, great list there. I was looking for 1981 UCLA which was a week or two after the Nebraska upset. And later that year MSU the game where they clinched the rose bowl birth.

Yes many great moments. Bowl Moments..... More recently they've been more akin to bowel movements.

But times they are a changing I feel in 2015

I know it's best games, but the '01 Michigan stands out to me. I've been to plenty of games at Kinnick, but NEVER saw so many people in a stunned, zombie like silence. It was eerie.

Not necessarily in order:

PSU with Murray's field goal in '08 - for obvious reasons

Michigan night game in '09 (?) - we won that game and the whole place was electric

Winning the Big Ten title after beating Wisky

For away games:

Beating LSU on the Tate-Holloway TD

ORange bowl win - Obvious.

Wisky in '03. Great Iowa crowd. Amazing night from Kaeding. The winning TD was less than 50 ft in front of us. The Iowa crowd wouldn't leave and all the Wisky fans had to go past us to get out of Camp Randall.

My favorite game was on Sept 28th, 1974.

Iowa lost 27-0 to Penn State.

Why is this my favorite?

Simple....it was my first game in person @ Kinnick.

1) Michigan 85 2) PSU 08 3) Neb 81 4) OSU 83 5) Illinois 84 (we ended the Illini's 12 game conference win streak) 5)Miami, FL 93 (first night game at Kinnick) 6) Wisky 04 7) OSU 04 8) Pitt 15 9) ASU 03 10) UCLA 81
