Maybe Young, IKM, and the whole Iowa team should focus on how they are going to beat NIU, ISU and UNI first before they start thinking about beating Wisconsin.
With that said, we are fans and we are allowed to look ahead. The Wisconsin game may be a good game for Iowa to try something different on offense. Maybe a no huddle, 4 TE set. Or maybe some screens to IKM. Or maybe a QB draw (gasp!)

True we don't want to get ahead of ourselves.
I just hope they are working to beat Wisconsin and not be embarrassed like in the Rose bowl and not working like, we have to beat NIU and UNI.

I guess I'm confused as to what PSU versus Wisconsin last season has to do with us playing Wisconsin this season, especially considering that both teams are going to look a little different.
They have not been easy to run on for awhile.
In the past 6 years they have been a top 10 team 4 times and top 25 team 5 times, missing all 6 years by one slot. Since 08 they have missed top 25, 3 times, with one of those being #26.
You have to go clear back to 2011 to find a time when they they weren't so great.
I imagine some drop off, but I wouldn't count on them falling 30 spots either.

If Iowa is to beat Wisky it'll take not one but two maybe three big passing plays. Not necessarily for TDs but long gains getting us into scoring range. Wisky isn't going to let us run the ball like we want to do it. They do a great job at taking that away. It's tough to mount a 10 play drive on them it just is with our style of play. So unless our passing game can loosen them up offensively it could be a similar (hopefully not nearly as bad) of a story as in the past. Oh and our D will have to play well of course. I can't see any game with them being a 30-25 pt type of deal. I think first team to 17 maybe 20 wins it.

But there is a ton of work to do on both sides of the line, if we want to have the consistency they have.
Since 08 we broke into the top 30 once. They fell out of the top 25, twice out of the top 20, three times, out of the top 15, four times.

That PSU Wisconsin game is from two years ago by the way. Wisconsin played Ohio State last year in the B1G title game.
I know but Barkley was a freak. 3 years over 1,000 (not by a little), 5.5 to 5.9 avg per carry. Heck at one time almost put 200 on OSU by himself.
None of that was counting receiving yards.
Wisky has gone to the behemoth Off lInemen for a long time. They have good feet and can move. KF has stayed with Off Linemen that weigh 20 lbs less for outside zone but we can just push people around like when Gallery was there as the animal
I think 2 big plays will get us the win for sure. As long as they are really big plays like pick 6's there is no way we lose.
Yeah in a lower scoring game that's usually the difference. Last yr was just stupid. 2 pick 6s and offense did less than nothing. We may as well just ran the fullback 3 times and punted every possession. If Iowa would have had 2 big passing plays along with those pick 6s and played a little better D....
