Yet another reason to despise the Goofers.....

Last night on the Big Ten Network it showed the Minnesota players saying the "Our Father" prayer in the locker room after the Michigan State win.

Maybe Minnesota ought to taunt its own players for praying.

The University of Minnesota is apologizing after its Goldy Gopher mascot "mocked" a Penn State football player who was praying before last week's game.

and

YouTube video - YouTube - Minnesota Golden Gopher mocks Penn State DE Jerome Hayes praying at Homecoming 09

The voice @ the 55 sec. mark said it best, "He clearly mocked his prayer......that's not cool!"

And to that - I say AMEN!
And what on earth is wrong with mocking a moron who is so out to lunch that he cannot distinguish a football stadium from a church.

Not to mention that the #1 guy who is the apparent basis of his clearly Christian prayer performance told him not to be like one of those hypocrits who babble prayers in very public places, but to go into closet and quietly talk to his God there.

I always wonder how guys so dumb that they they think God cares about football games and who wins them ever manage to get into a Big Ten university.

Its not like the guy was playing for Baylor or BYU or TCU or Central College...or Auburn or Mississippi State or Oklahoma State or Texas Tech....

You, sir, are a completely stupid man. Or woman.

Oh. so it's ok to make fun of a football player for praying before a game no big deal ? Just think what a stink would have been made if that same player had refused to stand for the national anthem. No big deal ?

You do realize that if he's a true Christian, he wasn't praying for a win, right!?!? If you're going to bash someone for something, at least know what he was praying for, before you spew your hate rhetoric...

Shhh...don't tell the non-believers about FCA and stuff...they'll call for a "separation of church and sports"...

Minnesota should send their mascot to Washington and have him make fun of that idiot they sent to the senate last year. Ihat would be making fun of the state and not the church if you want to keep them separate.

"Moron" may have been a little strong, since apparently no one was able to read past that word, but you're absolutely right. Prayer and religious beliefs are a private matter between an individual and whatever deity they choose to believe in. There's absolutely no reason to make a show of it in front of thousands in the stands and millions watching at home.

Does they player have a right to do it? Yes, he certainly does. Does the mascot (or anyone else) have a right to mock him for it? Absolutely.

Right on the money.
