Your newest 2010 Mens Freestyle world team member at 66kg is Brent Metcalf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They came down to the 3rd period and Frayer won the ball grab and got to clinch but Metcalf pulls it out!

Go get them at worlds Metcalf and Zadick! Go Hawks!

thats big for him to get over the Frayer hump and now that his college careers is done I think he can now pull away from Frayer

just a great weekend for wrestling anybody else get to go?

I was able to go. It was an impressive weekend of wrestling. I enjoyed the wrestling on Friday better. However the Saturday finals were full of drama.

  • My friend and I were certain that Nathan Piasecki and Jeremiah Davis (60kg greco-roman) were going to leave the venue and brawl outside after their final match.
  • Obe Blanc vs Angel Escobedo was a really close match-up. Both were really tough and Escobedo was just a shy of being able to beat Blanc.
  • The Frayer supporters were incensed over the final call of the last match (Sunday morning in the hotel I overheard someone saying it was TOTALLY the wrong call.)
  • Jake Herbert had to practically claw and scratch his way to a win over Keith Gavin.
  • The fan base for Les Sigman and Tervel Dlagnev was impressive and the noise during their matches I think was the loudest it got during the tournament.
  • Alyssa Lampe finally found a way to beat Clarissa Chun.
  • Elena Pirozhkova looked like a woman on a mission. I can't wait to see how she does come September.
  • Faruk Sahin was extremely gracious after his win over Glenn Garrison, he wouldn't let go of Garrison at the end of the match and hugged both Garrison and Garrison's coach in a sort-of group hug.
  • And Justin Ruiz proved why he's still the best.
And Friday:
  • Mike Zadick was simply impressive. I couldn't stop smiling after he beat Bunch so decisively.
  • Travis Paulson vs Andrew Howe was like watching two titans at battle.
  • As was watching JD Bergman vs Jake Varner. I highly recomend watching the video of their matches. Power.
  • Amy Whitbeck almost pulled the upset over Jessica Medina. I think Whitbeck only needs another year or two of experience to be at the top.
  • Kelsey Campbell vs Deanna Rix was a very close match-up, but Campbell was too much for Rix in the end.
  • Kristie Davis showed why she's still the top person after handling Erin Clodgo.
  • Stephanie Lee showed why good positioning will always win despite facing a really tough Ali Bernard.
  • Spencer Mango vs Jermanine Hodge was awesome, but Mango is so very tough and a lot of fun to watch.
  • Jake Fischer and Jake Clark both handled their matches excellently.
  • It was Dremiel Byers vs Tim Taylor in the 120kg GR finals. Taylor couldn't come up with anything to beat Byers.

Way to go BRENT!!!!! 2 HAWKS ON THE WORLD TEAM IS GREAT!!!! Wish I could have been there to watch this live!!!! I can't wait to see how they do!
