OSU 56, Ill 14
NU 39 Minney 0
PSU 45, Indy 14
OSU 56, Rutgers 0
Wisky 38, MD 13
PSU 35, Rutgers 6 (etc)

The first blush emotion is "yeah, those losing teams were chumps."
But when Iowa beats down a terrible and "we quit" Nebby, team, it's cause for optimism?

What am I missing?

I agree. THIS makes the Purdue loss unacceptable. Absolutely reduculous to score over 50 twice in conference play and lose to Purdue. I’ll give Wisconsin some credit but zero offensive points in that game burns me too.

Similar records, yes, but Fry started the program from ground zero. Iowa was at the bottom of the college football heap.

A lot of what I love about Hayden was his personality. He is kind of like why ISU fans love Johnny Orr, except that Hayden actually won.

Ohio State 48 - Michigan State 3 (Michigan State had beaten Penn State & OSU had lost to Iowa the week before)
Minnesota 54 - Nebraska 21 (Minnesota loses by 39 the next week)
Penn State 42 - Michigan 13
Penn State 31 - Northwestern 7

Blowouts happen for all kinds of reasons (injuries, momentum, lack of effort). I don't know that Iowa beating Nebraska so bad is cause for optimism. But, it doesn't suck.
