And the problem with the NCAA system is that if BF took the job on February 6, Reynolds would still be bound to his LOC. Not saying Iowa would do that, but it's a problem nevertheless.

What's this kid going to do if BF does leave. Drop Iowa and go back to UNI? Id highly doubt it.
 
Plus it's just the nature of the business. If BF is considering taking the job in Houston I'm sure he would like to be honest about it. However, today once a recruit makes a commitment he receives dozens of phone calls about it. If you're a coach and you aren't sure about your job status you can't let something like that get leaked to the media through a recruit. It's not personal. It's PR in 2014.

If he did accept the job in Houston he would probably call Reynolds and say "Look I apologize that I wasn't straightforward with you about my job prospects, but I didn't know for sure at that time, and until a decision was made it was information that didn't need to be out there.". Now maybe that would **** Reynolds off, but if I were in his shoes I would understand.

Hard to believe how worried some of us are about Ferentz leaving.

Most of the discussion around here the last few years has been about how to get rid of Ferentz.

The discussion in this thread as of yesterday was still pondering the possibility of Brian leaving. I saw they hired a coach yesterday and shared to finally put it to bed…..sue me

wasn't attacking you, didn't mean to come off that way - just attached your post as the period on this entire non-story. the whole idea that he was leaving when he wasn't leaving was amusing - today's "journalism" - get it out there first, worry about the accuracy of it second.
 
I really missed the boat on becoming a journalist before the internet blew up. Just post random stuff by citing "sources" and then never address it again when you turn out to be wrong. The stuff you do get right you just steal from real reporters and don't give credit.

Yeah I agree. If he was going to take the job, he would of done it weeks ago. He also wouldn't of went on the road trying to recruit last week. Very glad he's staying at Iowa.
