Yahoo Sports says BF to Texans

Eric Edholm from Yahoo Sports Shutdown Corner says BF has accepted job as Texans OL coach. Anyone else hearing this?

I have heard that it is a possibility and BOB wants BF, but not a done deal yet. I guess we will find out soon.

That is the only place I have seen it. I just read a write up on espn about the texans hiring a qb coach and it says munchak chose the steelers over the texans and the texans still have the ol position available.

I don't follow the NFL closely enough, but I've been thinking since this story broke a couple weeks ago, that maybe the Texans would wait to announce until after the CFB signing day next Wed. IIRC, that's when KOK left, Carl Jackson retired all after Nat'l Signing Day...

Must not be fun working for dad. He has plenty of upward movement at Iowa available. Although he could always come back to Iowa again, if he wanted... Bounce around the NFL while you are young, I guess.

Please tell me this is some kind of joke, I thought this had already been settled that he is staying?

Popping up in other places now too, but not on the major sites. Until he is on the sideline this fall you can't discount it. Even if he says he isn't leaving that means very little in the coaching world.

You are right, I am just not used to seeing this kind of drama at the assistant coaching level. There must be quite a bump in pay if you are willing to leave your alma mater where your dad is the head coach with a huge buyout in his contract. But then again perhaps his dream is to some day be a head coach in the NFL.

Call me crazy, but shouldn't one of the local newsguys call Brian Ferentz on the phone and ask him what's the dealio? It's not as if there's a ton of college football news to report on right now. At least we can hear a "no comment", which would mean he is leaving.

Or a "No, I currently have no plans to leave"....which just means he may be leaving in near future, or really is not leaving, for now.

yeah, i wouldn't blame him. came to Iowa to help dad for a bit, but now headed back to the big leagues. would be bummed to see him go, but wouldn't blame him.

he wouldn't say anything at this point to jeopardize any recruit, if, in fact, he is planning on leaving.

KOK also recruited that one 4star highly recruited running back who said, after getting banged around as a freshmen that "he was more of a slasher". remember that guy?
