Wrestling Finals: KCRG Programming Choices

I have seen a good amount of talk about KCRG's decision to place the State Finals on their alternative channel. The message that I got back from KCRG is that when the "won" the rights to the wrestling finals that they already had prior committments, which is why the finals are on their alternative channel.

I did some checking to see what programming was bumping the finals. Here it is:
7pm-9pm Big 12 Basketball (Texas Tech-v-Kansas (Not even Iowa State!!))
9pm-10pm Wipeout.

Not exactly serving their viewers in Eastern Iowa!!

Yes......... I can't go anywhere or turn on the TV or radio without SOMEONE talking about the big Texas Tech vs. Kansas game this weekend

i agree with this. Typically i always think wrestling fans overshoot how popular it is in the state. For example most would think an Iowa vs Minn dual would get some amazing rating but it would not. probably get crushed by about any other programming that they could put on. However the state tourney is a different beast. Basically every single town in the entire state has a stake in this because of the award stand alone not to mention the 84 kids in the finals. Every grandmother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, etc wants to tune in to see the kid they know and root for up on the award stand.
