Consensus # 1 team in the country, heisman rb back, senior qb, stud wr....3 loses, getting smoked by south Carolina, LSU, and lost at home to Auburn, can't keep a 24 point lead in the 3rd quarter... heads should roll. The snake oil salesman needs to go......

So who had a more disappointing season? Who failed to meet expectations more?

Actually Bama had to replace most of their D, which is Saban's specialty. If you'd researched that before you tried being a smartass, you'd have known better. Also, Bama was soundly defeated by USC, but lost 2 very close games to opponents ranked #5 and #2...but have not lost to any opponents for the 5th time in 6 games that people generally regard Bama as having more talent than. Anything else you want to throw out there to make yourself look like more of an *******?

Have to admit, during the blow-up, I thought to my self several times this looks like Iowa, but the Hawks are much better at it. Who is better, probably Bama, and I would never question Sabin; he has the resume.

Anyone catch Danielson's slip-up during the game?

He started to say "These guys are really earning their m...". Caught himself in time but him and Vern were joking about it later. I bet the SEC really loved that.

LMAO!!!! 2 of their 3 losses are by a combined 4 points to teams that are currently 22-1 and ranked 2nd and 5th. If that would get a person fired even if you are preseason #1 then good luck finding any football coaches.

SeattleHawkeye hit the nail on the head.....and two other things that are drastically different between Bama football and Iowa Football.

First, they expect to play for a National title year in and year out. They expect it of themselves, their alumni expect it, sportswriters expect it....wow you mean they do understand outsiders expectations?! A novel thought.

Second, everyone knows the SEC is a WIN AT ALL COST conference. I'm not saying he did or didn't but the Cam Newton thing is another example. Something deviant happened we just don't know what or how it all went down. I believe the WIN AT ALL COST mentality is insanely warped but it is what it is.

And yes they have disappointed too this year even though they did replace their entire D because they get 5 star jocks all over the board.

How does he keep his job? By going to work today! He is in no jeopardy what-so-ever of losing his job because of the season they have had!

i knew this OP was coming or something similar to it.....comparing apples to oranges as far as I am concerned.

Well D-bag, I knew that they had to replace most their d (I have proably forgotten more about college football then you know). I was being a little sarcastic, but I see you are not smart enought to catch that. But seeing you mention it, Iowa lost 3 players on D to the NFL, Lost 4 LB's at one point this season to injury (had two freshmen play significant roles, with a TF starting), 2 of their top 3 RB's injured or left (almost had a fullback be the 2nd string RB), had to replace 3 off the o-line, a TE who is having a hell of a rookie season, 2 of the players who left were Jrs and we lost our D-cordinator for pretty much the whole year. I don't know if you know this, but these are not "Keeper" league's. There is turnover every year. People only have 5 to play 4... (unless you are Jess Settles)...

If you don't follow football very much, Bama usually get a little better recruiting class then Iowa (look it up *** clown). I would think that they would be able to reload a little easier then Iowa. Losing two Jr.'s to the NFL draft last year was a huge lose for Iowa.

We also lost two games to top 8 teams by 4 points.

Jack ***....

I was being sarcastic, but I will bite. Do you know what Wisc and OSU's records are, and where they are ranked, and how many points we lost to them by. Just askin...

My point is, it is college football. Iowa hasn't been beat by more then 7 points since like 2007. Sometimes you win the close games (like last year), some times you lose them (like every other year except 09).

I'm confused...I didn't know anyone was asking or saying whether KF should keep his job. I thought we were just going after the offensive coordinator, where our problems on offense rest. Can someone update me on the direction of our anger? Just want to maintain the momentum and "me too" feel.

News flash... KOK is not going to get fired while KF is coach. The only way he is no longer O-Cord for Iowa is if he gets a head job (not likely), or KF leaves the state....

How does Saban keep his job? Because that statue out in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium to his honor would look rather out of place if they fired him after a 3-loss season.
