Would you rather?

If you had Biff's sports almanac from Back to the Future II and knew Iowa was going to go 6-6 in 2015, would you rather take that 6-6 or go 3-9? 6-6 and I think KF likely gets another year. 3-9 and I think he's gone. What say you?

and bring in who exactly? Some no name crap coach from a MAC school? Yeah, then we would def be sooooooo much better than now!

I would go strait to the track and get Biff rich. Then I would hire Bill Belichek as head coach, Urban Meyer as OC, and Nick Saban as DC. Kirk can keep his 4 mil salary as oline coach.

He should be gone with 6-6 with this terrible schedule....They have the easiest conference schedule of ALL power 5 teams. Not to mention their NC schedule is a joke too. Any decent team would win a minimum of 9 or 10 games.

I covered this ground about 6 weeks ago and took some S for it. I'll be cheering like hell at the start of game 1...but if we start off 2-2 or worse than I'll be doing a 180 and praying for losses so this nightmare can finally end.

Some ADs would have let him go just on the basis of the poor recruiting over the last 5 years. Too much emphasis on developing, and finding the next diamond in the rough.

I still can't believe all the negativity. If Kirk Ferentz were the head coach at Ohio State or Michigan during the same time he was at Iowa he would have a couple of National Championships. Why do you assume that Iowa will automatically go 6-6? I know Kirk has had some very interesting years, but he is better than 90% of the coaches that would stay at Iowa. Would you like 2 years of success and the head coach bolting to another school a few years later? Look at Iowa State and see how fortunate we are.

Despite how things have gone recently, things are looking up. There is a great facility and renewed vigor, something that hasn't been seen for a few years in the Iowa football program.

My almanac says 9-3. Why? Because eef 6-6.

Like Gary Pinkel at Toledo? Or maybe Urban Meyer or Woody Hayes or Bo Schembechler would be better examples? Great coaches come from smaller programs just like they also come from coaching staffs of big time programs. They aren't all Terry Allen hires like the one KU had. Despite his ethical problems, Jim Tressel was a darn good coach from Youngstown State.

One could do worse than hiring a MAC coach. It just has to be the right one. And don't try to tell me these examples are too far back to count. These are just the ones off the top of my head. There a re plenty more if one were to actually do the proper research.

This is the worst attitude.

You know what Biff did with his pistol for the 2 McFly's....well how about the 2 Ferentz's.....nah that is way to cruel....just take the sports almanic and make a **** load of money.

this is turning into a "what if you had a future telling sports book" topic. I like these so I'll go.

1) amass at least a decillion dollars ($10^33 for those who are wondering).
2) buy 51% of the world's assets, thus I have majority control over the world.
3) start a gene-splicing/cloning program
4) get results, then wait 20 years
5) now my hybrid team of cheetah-gorillas that I clone every year beat every team 999-0.

hey, I declared myself supreme ruler of the NCAA so I say tank-bred che-rillas can play football, but only on the team I'm supreme ruler of. I'm also ultra kami guru of the earth now. If anybody got that reference you earned a cool point

Kirk's been here almost 20 years, our program is very stale and has been so the past 5 years. I'm ready for a change, and I hope his son Brain is NOT our next coach!

Here's a netfound drawing of a che-rilla, as you can see they are awesome. who wouldn't want a team full of these?

so we have access to the sports almanac AND the delorean? If that's the case I can have my che-rilla team ready by next season. shame it'll be in an alternate timeline.
