Would 6-6 be OK?

Given we are in a rebuilding year(s)... how bad would a 6-6 season be? I'm still hoping for 7 or 8 wins as we'll be at 2 after Saturday. But after week one I could see a 6-6 year.

Under normal circumstances, 6-6 with this young team would be acceptable provided that they improved as the season progresses. However, the "what have you done for me lately" crowd would have all the fuel needed to convince themselves that a coaching change is needed.

I don't think 6-6 is acceptable barring extenuating circumstances, e.g JVB out for the season. 7 regular season wins is the minimum acceptable level especially as the last 10-win season fades in the rearview.

Our schedule makes 6-6 worse then a normal 6-6. I could accept 7-5 but probably not be real happy. Not going to go all fire the coach crazy but our schedule makes that a bad record.

6-6 is not ok. After "we" win Saturday "we'll" go 5-0 to start the season, before we hit the meat of the schedule....and everyone will forget about NIU. Everyone just calm down

After week 1, I see 1-0. I'll see something different after week 2. If they happen to end the season at 6-6 which is a possibility (that I doubt) then it all depends on how they reach 6-6 IMO. If they quit playing midway through the season and throw in the towel then I'll be disappointed. If they fight hard every Saturday and that is the best we can do then I'll be supportive.
However, I must add that with this team and this schedule I see us doing better than 6-6. But that's just one opinion that means absolutely nothing.

I don't think JVB makes us any better or worse.

So you guys ridicule ISU for 6-7 wins, and now by branding this season as a "rebuilding" year, it is acceptable?! You don't have "rebuilding" years when your coach has been around for 10+ years, it's called "a program on the decline."

LOL a lot think we have a better shot at better than 6-6 if he were to lose the starting job. I dont 100% agree but if the offense is so different with a lot of "play ground" reads like Miller talks about (and he has heard that from some players) maybe he is not capable of making those reads and a younger QB would be better. I don't have a definitive answer but I was not impressed with the hire of Greg Davis and I am not impressed after week 1, I don't want JVB to get hurt but if he sucks against ISU they better think long and hard about the future as he is not the future at QB. Honestly I would rather have Davis fired then JVB demoted.
