Woody rebounds 1 ft from basket ....

Woodbury = Chris Dudley

In all my life I have never seen a player that has such a physical build to dominate on the basketball court only to see him waste 4 years as a starter and never improve.

The only stat line that has shown any improvement over the 4 years is rebounds. That is simply a joke that somebody that is 7' tall can only stand there and rebound the ball. He walks around the court like he has a pair, you know the walk, the shoulders forward, the stern look on his face...only to become a complete ***** during the game.

Why in the HELL are you at the top of the key flashing at guards when you should be in the paint keeping the guards from finishing? I blame the coach on that one....in my life I will never understand why you plant a C at the top of the key. Let the guards go through the screens and help each other. Patrol the paint and grab every board.

Just pathetic all around. I, like several of you, am ready for this guy to graduate.

^^ totally agree and sometimes the coaches have or let him go out past the 3 pt line on defense. I put this on coaching for planning it or playing it this way.

The hawks were purposely playing a lot of double teaming defense in the second half, not sure if only to rush IU and get the ball out of Ferrell's hands, but it backfired for much of the time as IU passed and moved the hawks silly.

Williams, Wagner, Uhl and Baer looked good IMO. And I don't think Wagner would even understand if someone told him to kick it back out on an offensive rebound. His shot attempt may get blocked but he's going to the goal.

You've never seen Chris Dudley shoot jumpers or free throws, have you?

Woody has certainly had his share of disappointing moments, but he has given us more than most of the people on here are admitting. I fear we will miss his size inside next year.

He is the only 7 footer I have ever seen that gets fouled while attempting to dunk and gets the ball wedged between the glass and the rim. That was classic. Most take the contact and throw that $hit down, but not Woody.

Not putting back up and making a bunny for a 7 footer is frustrating to watch, but we have seen this before. The good thing about these plays is that he got offensive rebounds. A lot of times that leads to a wide open 3. This has happened several times this year. I have no problem saying Woody is bad offensively. He clearly isn't great on offense. That isn't why he is in the game.

People saying he is soft and can't rebound are clueless. People asking why he doesn't play in the paint. Why is he up top on defense? Probably because the guy he is guarding is setting picks for the guards. Should he stay in the lane and leave our guard to cover 2 guys? He does a great job of hedging. If we don't understand why we hedge the basketball go back and read through about 20 threads on Woody and why it actually makes sense.

Agree completely for sure any center would a) gather his balance b) go up strong and dunk it like he means it. Only aggression offensively is goal tend with 15 second left.

Woodbury has no balance. How many times does he just fall down while trying to make a move? Jesus he can't even corral a rebound under the basket by himself without the ball going through his arms and off his leg out of bounds like what happened again last night. Or how about getting stuffed by the backboard and rim last night? It almost appears as though he never worked on any part of his game but free throws.

Then doesn't put it right back. Two key rebounds and no points on last 2 minutes. What is up with that, Y league players at 6 ft tall would put it right back up on the glass.

I have tried to be a Woody backer but after a bunch of double doubles he has disappeared.

Please comment.

Maybe he was trying to avoid this

Yeah, Dudley played in the NBA for a while. AW is probably looking at Europe. I get what you are saying, but he really needed to be more of an offensive threat. Whoever was guarding him was able to roam, get out on double teams, flash at shooters, etc. White and Uthoff was able to mask some of that in the past, this year they really needed more offensive production from him.

The fact that you are drunk has nothing to do with you assessment. You are however correct.
i applaud your honesty, and would like to buy you a drink.
