I agree on waiting until about 7:10 PM before getting too excited. I got ahead of myself.

I honestly want to read CAAR's comments regarding this and if he feels differently then how he felt a couple months ago about the recruiting abilities of this staff.
 
i think the chances are good that Woody is a Hawk, the reason is that he is the only center with a offer and is the only one Fran as been in contact with as far as i have heard, i highly doubt the coach would put all his eggs in one basket if there was any doubt as to getting him to commit
 
FWIW (and I realize that's virtually nothing), Gesell tweeted about Adam announcing today and Paige did not.

C'mon Stormin'. I know you remember when we snatched Glen Worley from him. I saw the fax come through the West High athletic department when we played City: "Take Care of Business tonight. -Roy." We did, he didn't. Fat lot of good it did us, though.
 
I have not doubted Fran's ability to recruit. I only have stated the results that the data indicated were necessary for success and said it had to happen by this class.

People jumped on me, because they perceived my comments to indicate that Fran could not get it done. I NEVER said that. Really my only argument was with people who were preaching a patience model that just has NO RECENT PRECEDENCE of success. I have said all along that Fran knows this, but I think recent history just made it hard for people to believe.

NOW, WHERE WAS I WRONG? I put waayyy too much emphasis on Chicago recruiting and speculated that having a Chicago recruiting specialist on the staff might be helpful. In thinking about who on the staff might be a person who could be swapped for such a person, I focused on Dillard. That was just dumb. And really out of my knowledge area. But, I have owned up to that over and over, so it is a dead issue.

Nonetheless, both Gesell and Woody are clearly Fran's recruits. The hardest working man in Hoop's Bizness.

I wouldn't have remembered it but as I was going through the first few pages of that old thread and your "peace dude" sorta stuck out. I can just picture you typing that out, too...all ******....."peace dude" lol. Pretty funny, actually.

Hey I thought it was funny and I was the one who said it! Not many 17 year olds would pick Iowa over UNC.
