Woodbury gaining quite the state following

Interesting.......

"One of the toughest things for fans (including myself) to get a grip on is the quality of a HS big man...the primary reason is most opponents have nothing to counter in a one on one situation, so they typically play junk defenses against them. On some levels, things are a bit 'easier' for guys like Woodbury when they play against better competition..such as the NBA Development camp this past summer where he was the MVP." Me, 3/7 ;)

Show off...

:D

I've seen Woody many times in the last couple of years and he is going to have a completely different experience going forward. In HS he just got hammered throughout the course of a game. Double and triple teamed. You can not double team anybody in the Big Ten, or the guards will torch you. Defenses are going to have to play him straight. Roy Williams wanted him bad, for a reason.

I'm going on record as saying Woodbury will go down in Iowa basketball history as the #1 points scorer and around #3 or #4 for blocked shots. The kid has game, size and basketball IQ. Acie Earl had size and Marble had skill. He will have the ability to play with a PG that he is familiar with, 3s and 4s that can keep the double teams away and a coach that absolutely knows how to get it done.

The Iowa career scoring record is as safe a record as there is sports, if for no other reason than anyone good enough to break it will leave before their senior year is complete.

Just a question: will Woody benefit playing in from of college refs instead of HS? Sometimes the prep refs aren't as clued in what to watch for in the mugging that takes place under the basket. Sometimes we think college refs are.

Shane, there have been enough Jake C's and 12-0's through the year, I am trying to gain back some street cred ;)

Reminds me of this comic:

True, Hightower and Valentine are so much better.
