If Gesell is like Neitzel, Iowa is in good shape.
Tough player, great feel for the game, handled the game well.

Not exactly THE centerpiece to a successful program, but an important player nonetheless. Besides, we're all hopeful that Gesell won't be the crown jewel to this recruiting class anyway, and there's a solid chance that he won't be.

Never a fan of Neitzel all the hype and very little results until his Junior year and then a drop off his Senior year when he was supposed to be the top PG in the country and didn't make an All-American team.
To me if Gesell is a player that resembles Neitzel, then it would be better he goes elsewhere. 4-star player and No. 68 recruit overall.
When it came time for Neitzel to shine as a Senior he didn't stand out.

Wow we have some real idiots on this board. You don't think we could use a player who is Neitzel's caliber on this Iowa team? Yeah I forgot how many recruits are lining up to come here, better pass on this one and hope we can find another 26 year old felon somewhere.

Getting Gessel is huge for Fran and I will be thrilled if he's as good as Neitzel was.
