Won't play Ohio State until 2020

Iowa's proven in the past 2 months that Ohio St. nothing more than a basketball school with a football team.

More like a baseball school with a basketball team.

I'm starting to think Iowa's a institution of higher learning, that participates in intermural athletics. The way were going I'm not really sure what my thoughts are on the state of Iowa athletics other than I'd like Barta to find a new place to call home.

Well yes, what titles have the hawks men's and women's sports programs won in the last 5 years?

Name them, very few if any? The baseball team just won the tourney.

How about in the last 10 years, no football, bball, maybe a wrestling, ??????

Truthfully I don't even care about winning championships. Just win something.

In all seriousness, this shows whats wrong with Big Ten Parity scheduling. Iowa plays PSU 6 times in 6 years, and OSU, Mich, and MSU only twice in 6 years, which means OSU only comes to Iowa City once every 6 years.

The big ten crossovers should be redone to have Iowa, Neb, Wisc, Minn all play PSU, OSU, Mich and MSU 4 times in 8 years. Essentially the Big 4 in the West rotating playing 2 of the Big 4 in the east division each year. It could be something like this for Iowa.

Year 1 - @OSU, MSU, @MD
Year 2 - @MSU, PSU, Rut
Year 3 - @PSU, Mich, @Indy
Year 4 - @Mich, OSU, MD

Year 5 - @OSU, MSU, @Rut
Year 6 - @MSU, PSU, Indy
Year 7 - @PSU, Mich, @MD
Year 8 - @Mich, OSU, Rut

Thats much better I believe than the feast or famine approach of 2017 and 2018

Three years of saying "How's that national championship?" :D

2020 sounds like 2300 years into the future

Better Schedule: Get rid of PSU, Rutgers, Maryland, and Ohio St., only because they are farther east than rest of us. That would put us back to being the Big Ten. We would play everybody, every year. Don't even bother with a championship game...we would know full well who the champion was at the end of the regular season.

I'm not a big fan of having a designated cross over game. It makes sense for Purdue and Indiana to play a cross over every year, but not for the rest of conference. I would at least water it down a bit so no two teams play more than 3 out or 5 games over five years.

It would be preferable but not necessary that all teams meet at least once over a five year span.

Yes, I am sure Iowa would be just fine if it never had to play Rutgers, but I think that would true for every team in the West Division, but somebody has to play Rutgers.
