Wisky v Iowa predict the score

I'll say if we win, it will be 3-0 or our defense will have to put points up, because our offense isn't going to. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong

A perfect example of KFz's main shortcoming. Every game is the same, he doesn't exploit matchups, attack weaknesses, he just "does what he does". It's as if the opponent doesn't exist.

He's a fine man, but I'd love to get across the poker table from him...just once. And have Barta sitting a couple chairs over as well.

What is the definition of a fine man. Stubbornness? Greed? Not playing best players who are working hard? Frustrating the heck out of really good players? Playing A Rob too soon after a concussion? Blackballing and snipping at media? Questionable training practices?

Good plan!

I hope you're right. But, Saturday was only the 2nd time since ISU the Hawks scored more than 14 first-half points, so it seems unlikely against that defense.

'87, my thoughts are that this will be "somewhat" of a trap game for WUs because of the disappointment against OSU. Plus, WUs plays kNU next week. So, they know they need to be ready to play this week and next, but a physical and psychological hangover could linger into the first half for them. So, we need to plan on it and pounce. WUs is at least as good a team as we are, so they will right their ship and play better in the 2nd half. those are my thoughts, anyway.

I'm thinking some of you just don't realize how impressive it is to hold Michigan to 14 points... you think Iowa is going to score more?? Jeeebus

But your also failing to acknowledge that their offense didn't put up a ton of points vs. OSU, Michigan, LSU, or even Georgia State. You may be right that holding Michigan to 14 points may be impressive, but they also have shown they struggle to put up a lot of points (which we've struggled to do offensively as well). If we can keep them out of the endzone and play well defensively theres no reason to think we can't put up enough points to have a shot at winning.

Who knows 14 points may be enough to come away with a Hawkeye win.

I understand your thought, and hope you're right. But, "plan on it and pounce" is a crazy dream! You know they need to come out swinging, I know it. Everybody on this board knows it. Do I think it will happen? No.

And, while Wisky could be down, they could also be pumped up. If I was Chryst I would tell them "We were just as good as Ohio St last week, and Iowa is not that good. We are gonna take it to them all game!" And then I'd have my db's press the receivers off the line, stack the box, and blitz every play until Iowa proved they could beat it.

WI needs this game as badly as we do. If they can win the West, and then beat OSU/MI in the championship game, maybe they make the playoff as a 2 loss team.

I don't know if WI comes out with a hangover, but if they do, as someone else said, Iowa has to come out and take chances and shots. More than likely we'll come out conservative and if we let WI hang around, they could easily wake up in the 2nd half and put us away.

Here are the points scored vs Wiscy so far

lsu 14
Akron 10
Ga State 17
MSU 6
Michigan 14
OSU 23

baring big special teams events or turn overs Iowa will score 14,or less IMO.

In order for the Hawks to have a chance, they need to put drives together. 3 and outs = tired defense in the second half where Wisconsin will be able to run all over us.

Iowa - 17
Wisky - 14

I think we have a solid chance of making this a close game. We have definitely improved offensively and defensively, and appear to be back on track. We are functioning as a unit on both fronts. CJ has regained his confidence and form and is almost back. It is very good to see. Young receivers are slowly coming around at the right time for this season.

Perhaps the key is scoring early, holding tight, and playing a field positon game with the able and excellent artistry of Coluzzi. This game could come down to a FG.

If our D holds tight, we win this one.

Going to be entertaining for certain.

GO HAWKS: IOWA 17-14

The truth is.......

Yes, I believe our defense will need to step up for us to stay in the game. I know Wisky's defense will show up. This could be a game of field goals if our defense shows up.

Statistically I think in close games KF loses more than he wins.

Like I said, Iowa is almost certain to have a hangover after such an emotional win at PU.
