Wisconsin will probably lose

I know everyone is down in the dumps but I think it very realistic that Wisconsin will lose another game. While Michigan and Northwestern are not world-beaters they have both had significant success against Michigan. In the past 10 seasons, Northwestern is 4-2 and Michigan is 4-4 against Wisconsin. I know past performance is not a prediction of the future, but sometimes teams just have a knack for beating other teams (look at Iowa v PSU and NW).

I agree. It is not easy for anyone to win AT Michigan. If Wisky loses one game, and we win out, it's Roses!! It can happen!

Any update on the Wisconsin injuries? If they are without the services of White and Kendricks, it could make things a lot more difficult for them over the last few games. We had our shot at them, all we can do now is move on and take care of the Spartans.

We need to get our special teams and defense sorted out before we worry about Wisconsin.

But, yes, they will lose another game IMO.

I agree ... I think there is only a 15-20% chance they go the rest of the year without a loss given all their injuries. This thing is a long way from over for the B10 title. Hawks won 9 in a row last year ... no reason we can't win 5 in a row to close out the B10 schedule ... won't be easy but can be done.

Northwestern will upset somebody. They just played MSU better than Wisconsin did. I predict it's Wisc, not us this year. Wisc could also lose to Michigan. I give Wisc a 50/50 shot at winning out, and if the Hawks beat MSU this wknd, and I think they will, there is a 50/50 chance our rose bowl destiny comes back into our control. Much much better to lose to an already one-loss Wisconsin than to lose to an undefeated MSU. Going into the Wisc game, if you were given the choice to lose to one of Wisc, MSU or Ohio St, you choose Wisc with wins over MSU and OSU. So, not over.

If (and I realize it is a big if) Iowa can beat MSU, IND, NW & OSU and Wisconsin loses at Michigan (same day as the Iowa v OSU game), then Iowa may pack TCF Stadium with 60%+ fans for a win and Rose Bowl Bound game.

Only thing about the NW-Wisconsin game is that it's Wisconsin's last game. With the Rose Bowl on the line, I'd be shocked if they drop that game. At Michigan is a possibility, but let's be honest, with their running game Wisconsin should be able to score a TD every possession on that D. Honestly, I would've given Purdue a shot until this last weekend (OSU humiliated them). And Indiana just isn't very good. Too bad Wisconsin isn't playing Illinois.

I'd put their chances of running the table at around 60%. JMHO. Iowa can still win a share of the Big Ten title and ruin Michigan State's and tOSU's seasons, regardless of what Wisconsin does.

AFAcademyHawk, I would agree with you, but don't forget 2004 Wisconsin. OSU had upset Michigan early in the day meaning if Wisconsin beat Iowa in Iowa City they would go to the Rose Bowl. Instead Iowa humiliated Wisconsin and shared the Big Ten Championship with Michigan. Also, if Michigan State loses to Iowa but wins its other 2 games then Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan State could all go into the final game at 6-1. In that scenario, a win over NW wouldn't guarantee a Rose Bowl Berth (Wisconsin would need MSU to lose at PSU).

If I had to bet on one of these two to happen: Wisky win out or Iowa win out, I would choose Wisky win out.

That being said, I think Iowa can win out. That's all they can do and all they can control now. If they win out, they will share the Big Ten title. As it relates to the auto Rose bid, that is a different story

Was thinking about this, why the H is overall record the second tie-breaker? What a bunch of B.S. This just penalizes teams even more for scheduling tough out of conf scheds. It's stupid in general an really blows for this year.

True, true. How would the tiebreakers work in that scenario? We beat MSU, Wiscy beat us, MSU beat Wiscy. I'm pretty sure we'd be the odd team out as far as BCS bowls are concerned (both MSU and Wisconsin would go, although I'm not sure which team would get the Rose ...). If the Cap One had the choice, I can see them picking tOSU over Iowa, despite Iowa's victory over the Buckeyes, moving us to the (gasp) Outback Bowl. Amazing to think that a 10-2 Iowa team could drop down that far. Good news is that we'd have to screw up against Indiana and/or NW for a team to jump us for the Outback.

Yes, Northwestern usually upsets us, unfortunately. Forget about everybody else, Iowa has to win out and right now that is very questionable. Iowa will be in a lot of close games just like the last one.
