The Iron Bowl is the premier in-state rivalry game in the country and one of the top 5 rivalry games on par with, if not better than, the Red River Showdown, OSU-UM and the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. A lot of the other in state games, like Iowa-ISU, Clemson-USC, Oregon-OSU, Oklahoma-OSU, Kansas-KSU, etc. are really only interesting to the fans of the programs or in those areas. When's the last time anyone in Iowa gave a rat's ass about an Arizona-ASU game or a UNC-NC State game? Never.

Agree with everything you said. I don’t care about any of those rivalries. None. Maybe OSU-Mich if they’re both have good years.

My point is it’s a rivalry game.

I want to see the hawks go head to head with the bigger teams and try to beat them. maybe lose but improve, then beat them later.

It would be one out of 12 games in a season and if you are the underdog and lose nothing is really damaged.

Gawd, I have been screaming on here for 10 years to dump ISU or at least cut that game to 2 to 4 times every 10 years and replace them with some good home and away matchups with new blood P5 teams.

I'd take them or any secespn team in Iowa City on black Friday in a nice snow filled Kinnick stadium with the temps below 30 degrees and 35-40 mph winds!

We have re-opened our Texas pipeline, if only a little, so lets try and get a game against Oklahoma in Dallas. Or Texas A and M in Houston. We have played in Chicago at Soldier field, lets play in Jerrys house or the Texans stadium.

I would much rather see that than another game in Ames.

I don’t mind the Clown game, but I would like the other non conference games be a little tougher though. I really liked the Pitt series. I think a Missouri series would be great for both fans as it would be very drivable.

Dunno man, I've never given two shits about Alabama vs Auburn, I'd rather watch MSU - MI. Always liked Florida vs Florida State more. Different parts of the country I guess, I couldn't care less about SEC football.

That was a big mistake, and in 1989 set the tone for a frustrating season. They rolled us in Kinnick like a tidal wave, scored something like 44 points, made us look like we were stuck in the mud.
