Wisconsin just did EXACTLY what Iowa should have last week

Wisky ran the ball about 50 times against a bad rush D / good pass rush D.

Iowa threw the ball over 50 times against a bad rush D / good pass rush D.

That's all that needs to be said.

Actually they did something. Something very wrong. I'm still a little baffled why we go away from things that are working.
It's obvious.

KF/GD know the other HC/DC are going to adjust against what Iowa is doing well so KF/GD adjusts to their soon-to-be-adjustment by doing the opposite of their adjustment before the opponent does their adjustment.

Like, duh.

;)

That's not all that needs to be said. I'll say this, ...

nope, nevermind

Lose to ISU and you can expect 6 wins on avg with KF.

We are flat out bad and KF really could care less. He's playing his guys so he can find the next Rudy (ie 'the story') so that is all that matters.

Disappointing that Iowa lost to this team. Wisconsin doing exactly what everyone begged Iowa to do and it's been incredibly effective. inside zone is blowing up MD, like how it worked with Weisman...but the difference is Wisconsin keeps going to it.

Gordon just scored his third TD.

The more I think about it the more angry I get. Greg Davis should be run out of town for the level of incompetence shown in that game.

Few under Ferentz, the 55-0 blitz at Minny, the big 2002 win at Mich.

but hayden did it all the time, hayden knew you dont lose close games if you dont have a close score, he also knew it is hard for the other team to catch up if you not only move the ball but keep scoring.

You guys all know how hayden would just sh@t stomp Illinois, Minny, ISU and NW and others when he can, and Texas in the bowl game.

I really think KF gets embarrassed if he wins too big. He is like the nice big brother type in the neighborhood who lets the younger guys get a bone once in awhile by having a big play and getting a score, but then ooops the young buck turns around and scores again and beats you.

I don't think he cares about being polite he just thinks burning the clock is the safest least risky thing to do with any sort of a lead. He is also way to anal about giving things away for future opponents to scout.

Even when his burn the second half away approach works, which ends up probably being 60 % at best, it's incredibly boring.

Remember Kirk's comment after the Indiana game about playing CJ? He said they planned for every scenario except what happened (blowout by Iowa). That clearly implies he not only does not expect to ever have a big lead....but has no intention of trying to build one.

Thats football.

There's guys in nearly every profession that will cling to outdated methods because it's what they are familiar with.

That is unfortunately the situation we are dealing with at Iowa.

It's funny how some posters show such hatred for Davis yet find good things to say about KF.

Wise guys over/under: 8.5 wins

Big Ten blog projection: Nine wins. We're bullish on the Hawkeyes, and the schedule is only a small reason why. The offensive line has a chance to be the best in the league and Ferentz staples -- the running game and defense -- should be stout. Iowa seems to be adding some much-needed explosiveness at wide receiver, though more work remains. Rudock should improve at quarterback after a year of experience. A 9-3 regular season is extremely attainable, and there's a great chance this team can exceed that and win the West Division.

I point out all the time that KF is the real problem with this program, Davis is just one of the symptoms and what I said was not meant to be a compliment pointing out his strategies back fire almost as much as they work yet he never changes.

That being said, Davis calling all those pass plays basically amounted to sabotage.

You think Davis has control over what is called? Over offensive personnel?

Davis calls the plays, Ferentz makes the horrible personnel decisions.

If Ferentz called the plays it would be nothing but stretch plays to the short side which actually would have been better than what happened against Maryland.

Because KF has control over the personnel, he calls the plays. Or more precisely, Jake checks down to the plays. Or game plans are made for throws to tight ends or running backs because Jake is more comfortable with those types of throws.. And the tight box is created surrounding about 10 yards from the LOS where all 11 defenders reside. The offensive line isn't doing it's job.

Get Wisconsin-like, moose-like, 330+ pound OLinemen and a stout defense if you want to use that type of offense to win.

Who's game plan/ playcalling was last week? Cause that game plan sucked. Obviously it was KF's cause he calls the plays, and we know how much he hates running the ball.

And before you state something about how I only blame GD and not KF...don't....because KF allowed that travesty to happen so he takes the blame as well.

Carry on...I'm trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can.
