Andy Van Vliet. Never heard of the kid.

Seriously, is that what going to back-to-back Final Fours and having the NPOY will do for recruiting?

Color me unimpressed.

yeah, Kamisnky sure was a bust. I can't believe they took that kid.....Aaron White was a no named kid too. How did that turn out?

Leave it up to the coaches

Those stories are the exception. Just saying that Wisky's recruiting sure hasn't picked up much since being at the top of the basketball world the past two seasons.

Success doesn't always turn into higher ranked guys wanting to sign with you.

Bo's ability to always be in contention for the BIG title and success he has with his recruits tells me not to doubt his judgement.

Before you get too unimpressed simply because he may not have a bunch hype in the US you might try a bit of research as this kid has a ton of potential. Not a typical 6-11 low-post, he has a nice looking shot from 3pt land for a big, a solid mid-range jumper, able to dish and even handles the rock rather well for a big. Oh and did I mention he's a lefty and will give them a decent shot-blocker on defense.

He will be a good player.

Not with Wisconsin.

You must be a slow learner. What does Bo have to do to convince you?

I know I'd be thrilled if Iowa had Van Vliet coming in for 2015 or 2016. Based on the vid, nice summary of his talents. I could see him starting for WI in 2015. He doesn't have near the low post game of Kaminsky, so that could be lacking or coming more from Hayes on this WI team. But his shooting and shot-blocking look better than Frank.

Actually land a blue chipper. They just went to back-to-back Final Fours and had a blue chip center in their own back yard and were losing their NPOY Blue Chip center and the kid went to Maryland instead.

yeah, making back to back final 4's is so terrible. I can't believe he still has a job. What is Wisconsin thinking?

Ya know, the bad thing about this kid is he will have a great career at Wisconsin, and probably be a thorn in Iowa's a$$ while there.....wow, Bo has all kinds of problems, nice call Linesetter....geez, what if this kid turns out to be better than Frank?

Van Vliet is not Kaminsky by a long shot. Frank's dropstep move will probably be remembered by WI fans like Greg Stokes' jump hook is remembered by Iowa fans. Van Vliet doesn't appear to be a low-post center. But he could fit in well with a system that values outside shooting, shotblocking, and finishing on the break in a 5.

Im saying if you can only land "projects" after having the NPOY on your roster, back-to-back Final Fours and 2 NBA Lottery picks then eventually you're never gonna sign elite talent and you must be a **** poor recruiter.

Eventually your luck of developing "projects" into players is gonna run out

Don't tell that to Kirk
