Really depends on how good our offensive line is. If they are good then Wisconsin will open up a lot of short passes to RBs and TEs by blitzing. We have a completely one dimensional offense. BYU is much more athletic and balanced than anything we could throw at Wisconsin. Blitz Stanley, stop the run. Game over. It remains to be seen how well we can run the ball against a Big ten defense.
Did anybody actually watch BYU last year? They were horrible on O.We have a completely one dimensional offense. BYU is much more athletic and balanced than anything we could throw at Wisconsin. Yeah, he'll call like legit end arounds instead of jet sweeps.I fear Brian will watch the BYU tape and call that stupid WR end around crap 20 times.
Maybe not but we do have TEs who can do it.We have to exploit their young Db's like BYU. My fear is we don't have the WR's to do it.

HUUGE if no? But players will be Hawk Tough. Showed another good step of improvement.Nate was much more comfortable. Good game overall. Now Gameplan by CAP??Not impressive. We got a shot, with a gameplan
You’re first sentence is untrue. If Iowa beats Wisconsin it essentially gives them a 3 game lead in the West standings. Iowa will be 1-0, with a two game better overall record, and own the head to head tie breaker.Iowa would have been better off if Wisconsin won the game. But it showed that Wisconsin isn't the powerhouse they are supposed to be. They are very beatable by Iowa.
I watched them last year and they were the only offense that I have ever seen look worse than ours. I watched 2 of their games this year and they are an entirely different team. BYU would not be an easy win for Iowa although I think we would win.Did anybody actually watch BYU last year? They were horrible on O.
Oh my foolish hawk fan....whisky will game plan but we on the other hand will just do what we do because that's the KF way. I guarantee you will be scratching your head so much next Saturday over calls before the night is over you'll be scratching your ass!Not impressive. We got a shot, with a gameplan

Wisconsin is going to come to Iowa with a renewed sense of purpose. The illusion Wisconsin players believed from all the hype has been shattered. Now they know they have to be fully invested to win. Any margin of error Wisconsin had is gone.
For Iowa nothing has changed. From the beginning, the forth game has been the pivotal game. Iowa wins they control their destiny. Iowa loses and it's a race to second place in the West. There are no other contenders in the West except Iowa.
On Saturday Iowa will meet a 2-1 Badger team ranked in the top 15. Had they met a 3-0 #6 ranked Wisconsin it would have been better. It would have been better to win against a top 10 team vice a top 15 team that many will now feel was over ranked to begin with.
Yea very good points. I was pretty bummed about seeing Badgers being upset. They may have been overrated some, but they still don't look like a team likely to go for back to back loses. In the wins against NIU and State, the offensive line just wore down the their opponent by the 3rd quarter. Iowa shouldn't expect this being possible verse Badgers. They're going to have to come up with big plays passing the ball while avoiding INTs.
While the bubble screens and short game throws verse UNI was nice to get Stanley confidence going, I get the feeling these are going to be very risky play calls against a good defense.
I do have some wrinkles, thanks for your reminders! It looks like BYU is doing a lot of misdirection on offense getting those outside linebackers doing stuff they normally don't like to do. Iowa simply doesn't do a lot of misdirection. I think Iowa will have some new wrinkles come next Saturday so we will see.
I doubt BF was watching the Sconny game before our game. I think it was just a case of opening the playbook up more and Stanley regaining a bit of the composure he showed (at times) last year.Actually BYU kind of exposed Wisconsin in the short passing game. It almost appeared that we called several of our version to the plays BYU had big success on. I'm guessing that is not coincidence. I think Brian watched some of the Wisconsin game and wanted to put on tape that we can do those same things against them. This subtle thing can really effect Wisconsin's game planning. They can hardly ignore the fact that we are prepared to exploit them in the same places as BYU. They will spend all week shoring up those weaknesses and hopefully we are spending all week finding a different way to attack them. A way that hopefully they aren't prepared for.
