Wisconsin -3

That’s the early line in Vegas. Sagarin has Iowa rated 13th and Wiscy 14th and Iowa a 3 point favorite at home.

Those who indulge should jump on that line quickly.

I think it will drop to Wiscy (-1) before the week is over, maybe a pick 'em at some books.

Wisconsin will be pissed off when they come in next week. That makes Wisconsin a 7 point favorite on a neutral field. Iowa didn't show the dynamic passing game it needed to vs. UNI that it needed to in order to win this game.

Wisconsin did lose a DE and their best LB, but with IKM Smith Marsette likely not 100%, we probably will have a hard time moving the ball. I don't expect many points in this game, but the difference maker is they have a playmaker in Jonathan Taylor, and Iowa doesn't.

Take Wisc to beat the spread.

Agree. I just don't see us moving the ball against them at all. UNI was simply bad. Stanley just isn't going to get it done, any pressure and he just panics, and he will see plenty of pressure from here on out. I think Wisconsin will be able to move the ball against us with some success. Not sold on our pass defense against a qb that can actually throw.

No, but you will disappear for a month if we whup them. Just like you always do.

Have you actually watched either Iowa or Wisconsin play this season?

I am legitimately nervous about our placekicker. Being that this game could easily come down to a last second FG, or battle of field goals.

Anyone know exactly what happened with the block last night? I had people over and was trying to tend to the grill over halftime. Was it the snap, the hold, or Miguel?

Whatever it was, he needs to bring his A game Saturday. There's a good chance we will need him late.

Go back and watch it if you can. The two linemen to the left of the long snapper didn't move, and one guy hurdled, which I thought was a penalty now.

It was definitely not on the kicker. The left side of the line is still waiting for the snap

It's only a penalty if they use another player to elevate themselves (i.e. climb up their back). The block was not the fault of the kicker at all.

Playing Wisconsin after they lose is never good, but I'm still taking the Hawkeyes to win straight up because it's a night game at Kinnick.

Beating Wisconsin in Madison in 2005 on "Barry Alvarez Day" was all but impossible on paper because the emotion had to be off the charts.

Kirk found a way, however, and I believe to this day all the emotion that Wisconsin originally had going for them that day eventually worked against them.

I've already seen several posts saying that Wisconsin is going to come in here mad. Let them. It won't get them the W. If they win on Saturday it will be because they were better than us and outplayed us, simple as that.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion on the rule. That is the correct interpretation of it.

Oh, that's the point spread? I thought it was a prediction of the number of yards they will get against our smothering defense.
